Default Baby engaging early is it a sign labour will be early?

I had an interesting talk with my GPs nurse this morning & mentioned DD had engaged at 32wks. I actually felt her drop (hurt like buggery) whilst I was in the supermarket. I've been having bad pubic pain on & off since then (feels like I'm being pulled apart like a wishbone).
Anyway as I was leaving she said get your stuff ready to go I doubt you'll make it to your c-section date, which is the 19th Dec (38w + 2).

DS was transverse lie till 35wks, engaged at 36wks. Never went into labour with him due to emergency c-section at 36w + 6, so can't really compare.

Is bub engaging early a sign labour will be early?

it doesn't have to be. I dropped as well at 32 weeks and still went to 41.

Not necessarily I'm afraid, I too dropped at 32 weeks and DS was two days overcooked. DD was breech so I never felt that "drop" and she was 2 weeks early.

No for me, though my Ob said to pack my bags at 35 weeks too - I was induced at 41 weeks

    Thanks ladies :-)

I'm actually glad to hear its not the case. I still have so much to do I'm going to be struggling to get it done by the 19th as it is.

Nope. Engaged at 33wks with my first, he was 9 days overdue.
Engaged at 36wks with my second, he was 9 days overdue too.
Engaged at 37wks (last week) with this bub, she is still inside though.
