Whaddya mean talk to my bosses lol. Haven't got around to it yet. But as pp have said 10 weeks notice of leave dates is standard so I will need to in the next week or two.
My company offers up to 3 years total leave allowing return to your same role. I'm notifying them of 52 weeks and will play it by ear if I go longer. Including ppl and annual I will be paid for the whole of that 52 weeks thankfully. I have basically zero intentions of returning but if I do return I get a welcome back bonus of about $7000 upfront my first week back (though have to stay for 6 months to keep the bonus).

Becca it's a fairly standard entitlement to be able to take 12 months maternity leave, so I doubt your boss would be surprised that you'd like the full amount of time off to spend with your baby. If she's been so supportive through the IVF I'm sure she would be understanding

You could perhaps start up the conversation by asking her what she was thinking would happen with your position whilst you are on leave?

Thanks Arlais. Yeah, I think I will do something like that. Or maybe just ask what our company policy is for mat leave and take the convo from there. I'm sure it's in the contract I signed when I started but after three house moves, who knows where that is!

Nirok, that's awesome. A $7000 bonus for coming back - what an incentive. I'm with bedlover in wondering what kind of work you do?

Ive had 2 weeks off over Xmas and can't wait to finish!

I have to apply min 10 weeks before I intend to leave and will work up to 36wks. I was going to do 38 but I don't enjoy my job (or management) so I'm just leaving early, I find I have a lower tolerance for bullsh!t these days.

I am lucky enough to get 14 wks from my employer (28 at half pay), govt 18 wks PPL and will have 5 wks (10 at half pay). I feel so blessed to be able to take a year off with my last day being April 4th. 64 days if I don't count Australia day!!!!

Well 21 weeks down and 19 (give or take to go)!! Starting to go quickly now.

Just ordered a cot and chest of drawers / change table on line. Exciting - site is cots4tots.com.au, cheapest I have been able to find and looks to be great quality and had excellent reviews. Available in all states.

I'm hoping to work up to 38 weeks, I will only get the government PPL. So trying to save as much as we can whilst we have two incomes.

I am back at work, but only one here, so just doing baby stuff!

Going to be hot for the next few days in Brissie, 37 today and 41 tomorrow. Lots of pool and air con me thinks!

Pram and car seat will be my next choices. But I do want to get organized early, a DF who is due in 3 weeks, hasn't even packed her hospital bag and is quiet stressed out. Don't want to put myself through that. Want to be able to relax and not be running around when I am big and uncomfortable.

Also saw my OB on Tuesday and all good apart from low iron, need to get an iron supplement to take. Enjoy your day ladies.

Now to open a debate - when do you think the third trimester starts?? Feel free to just add your personal opinion, back up with charts, etc

I think we have felt Junior . Started feeling a sensation the xmas day but very random like a kid kicking the back of your chair on & off at about 1730h each day - hubby agreed it was like that but it was quite low so couldn't be confident - but the today at 1250h above my appendix scar even Eli my hubby felt it and it was completely out of sink with my heartbeat and more distinct too. Yeah for 2014!!!

👫 First bub for DH and I after 10 cycles of IVF 🎉
Celebrating and looking forward to meeting Junior - our Baby BOY!!!!

Think I have gastro. Feeling extremely nauseated, lack of appetite, and diahorrea. Thankfully, I'm still keeping down fluids for now, and I'm about to get stuck into sipping some Powerade to try and replace some electrolytes. Hopefully it won't last long.
