Default Paid Parental Leave - Paternity pay????

Does anyone know how the new government paternity paid leave works?

Is it means tested? Is it paid from their employer or centre link? Etc etc etc.....

Just wanting to know if DP will be eligible

It's through centrelink and they can't be receiving pay from work at the time. Check it's worth it, my DH earns more so we can't afford to take the partner leave pay as I am a SAHM. Good luck

It's two weeks @ about 5 or 6 hundred/wk, and he has to be taking leave without pay from work during that time... For us, not quite enough to make it worthwhile unfortunately

It's minimum wage. Yes it is means tested and you have 52 weeks to take it! Dp just took it n our dd is almost 8 months we just saved a bit over the last long (lol) while to supplement it!

The employer is also allowed to pay a supplement to get it up to their normal pay rate.
