Every single one of those links is "according to the Sunday telegraph", all just rehashed stories, all very one sided so forgive my skepticism. Until I read more I will withhold judgement.

This is why bodily autonomy is so important. People say things like that will never happen, but they do happen around the world.

In China it has been documented that women who break the one child rule, have been taken away by the authorities, their babies taken out of their womb, and no one ever see said babies again. Think what you will, but we are all citizens of the same planet, and those types of things should not be allowed to happen. To you, or I or anyone - even women in other countries.

Hmm I'm slightly dubious given as I couldn't find anything on it on the BBC news site- I would have thought a story like this would have made it on there if it was credible...

But anyway, if it's true then it's absolutely horrific.

I agree. I think much info is missing from this story and do not believe it would have happened without very good reason. Don't believe all you read when the facts are obviously not included in the story, we have just heard the brief version. And this is also the first I've heard of this story!

I agree KG, but still worth a discussion imo. Because it does happen in other places in the world as well, this isn't the first, nor will it be the last story of this kind.

For sure. That is why I posted this- even in developed countries this sort of thing is happening. It's mind boggling to me, and I think it's important to be aware of it.

Would the medications the mother was being given, have harmed the baby in utero?

Would natural birth have been dangerous for the mother?

I'm trying to get my head around why this would have been necessary??
