Default How to keep a Xmas ham ???

We generally do roast chicken or seafood at xmas time but this year we are doing ham. ( with salad of all types and bakes etc)

How do make a Xmas ham keep, nicely in the fridge?

Dh reckons i should just cut it up and freeze it which i will do with most of but would like to keep some in the fridge.

I got told to get a ham bag wth is a ham bag supposed to do ? Lol

    Help me please !!!!

Get a clean pillow case and make sure it is damp. Put the ham in that and it will keep for ages. Make sure you dampen the pillowcase every day though.
Not a fan of ham off the bone once it has been frozen. Dunno, i recon its not the same?

I use water and a small amount of vinegar (a big splash in a container if water) to dampen the ham bag (or pillowcase lol)... I was told it helps keep the ham for longer

Make sure you keep the skin to lay back over the ham when you carve it. We keep the skin on, dampen the ham bag with water and vinegar and re rinse the ham bag every second day to keep it moist.

Roughly how long can you expect a ham to last if taken care of properly, ie skin on, damp bag etc ?
