Violet. Not keen on Tessa, is it short for something?

My best friend at primary school was Tessa, so I have a soft spot for it. And I love Tess.

I agree with ZE - ultimately it's great if neither parent has to compromise.

I love Violet, it is so pretty. I don't like Tessa like others have mentioned it reminds me of a dog or cows name.

    Violet from those two.
But I'd try to find a name neither of you have to compromise on.

    Definitely like Violet more.
I think Tessa is kinda cute but more as a nick name for something longer.

I like both!! So I'm no help.

If I had to pick, probably Tessa. I love the way Violet looks, I love the images it conjures (flowers, purple) and i love the way my DD says it. BUt I always think I pronounce it weird and that I am going to say Violent

Violet makes me think of 'violent'.

I love, love, love Tessa. It's a beautiful name.
