Most doctors just offer the testing routinely at 12 weeks. Its up to you whether or not you get it done.

With DS i was 25... but chose to have it done, simply so i could see bubba!! scans are exciting stuff!! lol

But i would say that being 41 they would strongly recommend you get the testing done as certain risk factors increase with age.

Standard testing. i was 26 with ds and had it done.
but obviously hisks are higher as you get older so they used to be just for over 35 i think

Theoneandonlyem im sorry that dh is making things difficult.
ttc is not easy for some and you both need to be on the same page and just give it your all so it must be so frustrating for you.
maybe sit him down and tell him you want to sort this out once and for all so maybe he can voice his fears or concerns and im sure you will be able to put his mind at ease and get bding.
hope you can still catch that eggy

on the downs test etc. I had one done with my DD, as did a friend of mine. Her tests came back that she was 1 in 2 for downs and 1 in 2 for trisonomy 18. So she had the amnio given the 'odds' in the skin fold and blood tests, they luckily came back okay and she has a perfectly healthy little girl.

She went through a huge amount of stress between getting the results and having the amnio, it wasn't until after she had the amnio that the doctor told her the skin fold and blood tests which give you your 'odds' are in fact 97% INACCURATE!

I don't know why doctors continue to do them routinely or advise mothers on having them done. My friend had so much stress in that week, that that stress could have caused issues with her baby.

Ever since I heard that I'm so against the tests. DH and I discussed them this morning and decided not to have them done this time because of the inaccuracy of them and have to come to the conclusion that we should just leave it to fate to determine how our next baby is.

Seems like I'm getting a second surge from my OPKs. Been getting darker from the day before. Here's hoping it actually works and I O naturally!

It looks like an early bfp!!

how soon after doing the test did it show? Does it have pink colour to it?

If it was within 10mins of doing the test and looks pink.... Id say congratulations are in order!!

Proudly brought to you by me and my autocorrect fail device.
