My DD is 25 months and has just this week transitioned to a single bed. Toddler beds seem like a waste of money to me.

We moved DD to a single bed from a cot at around 15 months, we also have a 21 month gap and wanted her to be well out of the cot and excited about her big girl room before bub came and 'took all our attention' etc. it was the easiest transition, we set it all up with a colourful bedspread and then we 'let' her have a daytime sleep in it because she was a good girl, and then she never looked back
