    Default Dad and Partner Pay

Hi, just wondering what the rules are around the dad and partner pay? I am taking the PPL so can DH take his 2 weeks as well? Or does my PPL get cut to 16 weeks to account for his 2 week pay? Thanks for any advice/experience anyone can provide!

They are treated separately, so you can have both.

Your 18 weeks does not impact on the 2 week dad pay. In addition you can also transfer some of your 18 weeks to your partner if you like

As pp days, it's completely separate so doesn't affect your ppl at all. It is also In addition to any paid parental leave they receive from work. My DH took 1 week paid leave from work when dd was born, then took his 2 weeks partner pay around 6 months in (you can take it anytime in the first 12 months)

Just wanted to add it's completely through centrelink and doesn't really involve the employer at all. DH works for government and they were a bit confused and in the end he went in the system as 2 weeks leave without pay and centrelink paid him money for the 2 week period

It's not means tested so available to anyone working. It's roughly 600 a week for two weeks.

Just looked into this a bit further, and this what the govt website says:
    And you:
    • are able to meet residence requirements
    • provide care for a child born or adopted from 1 January 2013
    • had an individual adjusted taxable income of $150,000 or less in the financial year either before the date of your claim or the date your Dad and Partner Pay period starts (whichever is earlier)
    • meet the work test, which requires you to have worked for:
      • at least 10 of the 13 months before the date your Dad and Partner Pay period starts, and
      • at least 330 hours in that 10 month period (just over a day a week), with no more than an eight week gap between two consecutive working days, and
