Emski - thanks so much for querying that while you were there. So glad your lining sounds perfect for the little emby. Fingers crossed. I wasn't aware that this was your donors first donation. I chose a first time donor myself and she has also been very pro-active.

Blinky, January and Feather - hope you're doing well and enjoying beautiful cape town.

net - you're journey has been so tough on you. While I can't begin to imagine what you've gone through and are going through, I do know that time heals. It sounds like for now you have a plan and with a little time and healing I'm sure everything will come together for you. I'm so glad too the ladies here are so nice and non-judgmental.

Lozby - phew so glad AF started for you. That's one less thing to worry about. Good luck!!

Jodi - sounds like we will be over there around the same time. Good luck with the prep also.

AFM - I've finally had two days in a row with no bleeding. Hopefully it's decided to stop now. I'm trying to book accommodation at the moment but finding it really hard to decide where to stay that doesn't cost a fortune. Just a quick Q for you ladies, did you all get travel vaccinations done? And are you doing malaria medication?

Esperanza, take a look at this place http://www.capestay.co.za/moltenocottage/ I was going to book here but couldn't get in. Annette who runs it is lovely and really helpful. She will also take booking with tentative date too from memory. Its in Claremont and from memory about 89 AUD a night. She had about 3people on a wait list for our dates so if you are interested contact her ASAP.

Also no malaria shots needed if you're just doing Cape Town, if you're doing Kruger National Park, or other parts you may need them x

I don’t really know Donna but she has obviously had a big impact here. I’m very sorry to hear what she is facing. It seems so unfair after already facing fertility issues. Not that life is ever fair in that respect I guess? Sending you all the positive vibes I can.

Thanks for asking after me Emski, and thanks to everyone else who chimed in after my question about contracts.

I believe we have actually found a donor!!! Woohoo!!! Things are moving

Whilst we did decide we were happy to go with the agency that didn’t have the contract, yesterday a new donor cropped up at a different agency and she just ticked every box. It was really unexpected and it just feels like it was meant to be. We reserved her immediately after looking at her profile and I’m currently awaiting the paperwork. So, I guess I’ll have my contract after all. I hope I’m not jinxing the process by mentioning it here.

Welcome to the newbies an Hi to everyone else.

I’m avidly awaiting any news from all those girls over in SA currently, or about to head off. Living through you all now.

    x

    Hi Ladies,
So we have arrived safely in Cape Town. We spent our first night here at Spier Hotel in Stellenbosch. It was lovely and I highly recommend it! It is a winery estate and hotel and was the perfect cure for our jetlag. (the breakfast there is probably the best hotel breakfast I have ever had, and considering the amount of travel I do for work that's a pretty high standard!)
We then headed to Inverdoorn for an overnight Safari. We were very lucky to see all the Big 5 but my absolute favourite was our personal interaction with a Cheetah named Velvet. It's a memory that will stay with us forever.
We are now in Cape Town and have settled into our Apartment. It's a great 2 bedroom in the CBD.
Tomorrow we head to CFC for our first appointment. Fx my donor is going well and my lining cooperates ...

Does anyone know if Progynova can be prescribed by a GP?

Not sure sorry angel. I asked my FS here to give me the script for it. I don't see why not though....Judging by the product info pages the chemist printed for me, I think it's normally used daily for women in menopause.

Thanks, the fertility clinic I go to said I could get it there but they don't dispense the Clexane and I need another script. I have made a appointment with my gp but I thought if I could get both then it would save me a trip to the clinic.

My FS has been great with giving me scripts but I just feel I can't keep asking.

Blinky - great news you arrived safe and sound - and what a beautiful picture you've painted of your first few days. It makes me so jealous, I cant wait to go back. Isnt it a gorgeous place, I'm glad you are enjoying.

Angel - I don't know, prob depends on your GP. I couldn't get it prescribed the first time, but haven't asked this time around. It would be so much easier if a GP could write 1/2 these scripts out!

AFM - my Histopathology report came back today and it was a "decidual cast" the whole lining but nothing sinister there thankfully. I also requested hormone levels & have sent both through to CFC. They are happy with both & said to continue as is - so that's good. Hopefully it is literally a sliver lining & gives me a lovely clean lining to start with.

Angel your GP can prescribe progynova, mine did for me.
12 eggs retrieved for us today which I'm pretty happy with - at this stage EPU is scheduled for Saturday.
