All adds up hey. Thank you for that.
All adds up hey. Thank you for that.
just popping in to see how you all are. Helen and Abundance a massive congratulations. it is lovely to see so many progressing in their pregnancies. thanks too, to those who've posted costs. Is there a way of making it a sticky? It has to be one of the first things you wonder about and is such a handy thing to have.
ironically, I had a look at Nurture's site and found my perfect donor in about 5 minutes flat and now see they are the most expensive agency! that would be right.
Hope 2014 continues in this wonderful vein.
Net, question Nurture on their "higher prices" than the other agencies, and they may offer you an immediate 30% reduction in fees. They did for me, as I was so blown away at their costs. I didn't ask for the reduction, I just asked how they could justify charging more, and whamo, reduction - gotta make you wonder !!! But who cares, if you get it cheaper, that's all you want
Hi Ladies, happy new year to you all
Helen u made me cry I am soooo happy for you, you are truly an advocate of the not giving up school and you have a ready made family on the way. Huge congratulations and hugs
Abundance congrats on your twins
Net glad to hear you are keeping your options open
Emski I was surprised to hear that nuture charge 3k they all charged pretty much the same amount of money when I used them.
I did the cycle with the three of us for 10k though that wasn't including the flights, but we flew business, however we were tre for 3 weeks and shopped a lot. I guess it depends on the exchange rate, last two times it was around 9.8 to the dollar.
Afm I have eaten drunken and been merry for the past couple of weeks holidaying in Noosa. It felt great not to have to think about or worry about "the cycle". OMG to have lots of red wine, champagne and prawns yummmm. I saw Dr Mathias yesterday and had all my bloods taken this morning I see him again beginning of March I will then know further if I need a biopsy, or just loads of drugs, I told him I was worried that my difficult birth could have brought on immune issues and he said it was quite likely that it did, preeclampsia is partly an immune issue. He did say the more eggs I put in the better so my idea of using Mattys sibling could go out the window as I don't think they will put in eggs from 2 different donors. I am also gong to start weekly acupuncture again that's something I didn't do this time and am going to do a Fertility cleanse I saw it on a US website when I was looking up Vaginal steams which I will also try, sounds fabulous, I came across it at Eumundi markets of all places, it's very big in the US now apparently. No idea when I will go back as it all depends on hubby's work, he may have to work down the coast for a couple of months which means he won't be able to look after Matty.
anyway enough about me, I hope your all travelling well and welcome to the newbies, good luck to those who are here or about to travel and congrats to BFP.
Sorry I haven't been on in a while this donor searching had consumed me
Helenmac and abundance what wonderful news, I hope everyone on the pregnancy side of this journey are doing well and looking after yourselves. Hopefully there will be a lot more of us joining you this year.
AFM - I guess the searching has paid off as we've found her. The lovely Rikki at Sunshine has helped me in finding the perfect donor. So now it's full steam ahead. I'm just waiting on Rikki to confirm her availability. I do have another in mind though if she isn't available.
I have an appointment to get my blood tests done and then I'm seeing My RE Dr Kroon to have my scans done and talk about the whole process. He's been looking after me and my hypothyroidism so I want to make sure that everything is as good as it can be before heading over. Also to ask him if I should be doing a practice run of the cycle while here in Australia.
Did most of you get your meds from your Dr here in Australia? Also just looking at flights, what did you guys do in regards to the stops. All the flights I've seen go from Brisbane to Singapore to Dubai/Johannesburg to Cape Town. Ranging from 22hrs to 44hrs
Hope everyone is well.
Just jumping on to let KLM know that I also saw Joel and Denyse (actually a couple us in this thread have...) - my twins just turned 4 months old. If you have any questions about how they work feel free to PM me.
Hi KLM I too used Joel and Denyse and after 3 attempts currently pregnant with twins. Still can't believe I'm writing that! Feel very blessed. Happy for you to PM me too.
Esperenza, I think you would be better off flying to Sydney and then flying direct to Johannesburg. Much quicker than going via Dubai. It's a long trip from Sydney so try to find the shortest way possible.
hope everyone else is doing well. I still follow your journeys closely.
All going well with me. Just over 10 weeks. Hoping nausea and fatigue abates soon.
For those of you with twins what are your thoughts on starting our own twin thread as I have found it hard to find a thread with information on twin pregnancies and tips on having twins. Any thoughts?
Net and Jodie - so pleased you girls are hanging in there.
Esperanza - yippee for finding donor. That's a huge step in the process. As flights from Brissy, we flew with Qantas. They have a daily flight leaving Bris via Sydney direct to Joburg. It's the quickest way of getting there. I have a dear IVF warrior friend who is South African and her husband travels frequently between Brissy and Joburg. They always get the Qantus flight due to it's directness.
Hope all all you ladies are looking after yourselves. Xx
things are finally moving for me! Saw my FS yesterday and got the results of our miscarriage which showed chromosome issues due to aging eggs so that puts my mind at rest that given a good egg I should see success, and my specialist said as much. She also gave me a referral for an OB so she must be really confident lol.
I heard from my SA nurse overnight and she has given me our tentative dates which is great as it means I can plan my life around those two weeks... whereas before I was just flying blind.
I am still waiting for AF 60 days in - have to call my specialist today and see if I need provera.
Getting excited now ladies and it's still 8 weeks away for me! lol.
Sounds exciting emski! Good news.
All the best with it.
