I agree with Rainbow Net, wait for the Beta! (Although I know I won't lol) and if it was an internet cheapie, they are cr*p! I didn't get a second line on those until I was over a week utd.
Rainbow who was this travel insurance company you speak of? Do share!
Happy Birthday Laned sorry to hear your thyroid is playing up , I hope you can get it sorted soon.

We have had a few long car trips over the weekend so I popped on Mary Coutas's book on audiobook, to my surprise DH is really enjoying it too, I think he has realised through this, just how strong I am as after her many failed IVF attempts and miscarriages she fell to pieces and would go underground for a month or so... he said 'you never did anything like that' and I agreed and said 'that might not be a good thing you know!' We sre just at the part where they are moving on to donor eggs in Greece, so that will be for our drive home today... I saw 60 mins when she was on so I know it's going to get sad...
Had my ultrasound done privately the other day... was trying to work out if I had ovulated, was asking him the thickness of the lining and size of my follicles and he said 'wow I take it you've had a few of these!.' Lol.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend
    Em xx

What did most people do for money changing in SA? did you take AUD and change there or took rand that you changed here but I did read you can only take R5000 into the country or did your use ATM's and what is it like trying to find a bank or did you mainly use credit cards for purchases?

Trying to work it all out.

Net, I used Escape Travel at Morley Galleria, I did look online and then took quotes in. I have found insurance and I am going to play safe and use HBF as my mum who is coming with me can be listed on the policy and we will go halves and its reasonable in price.

Emski - We had three on our policy as our daughter came with us. We bought it through AIG it was a Gold policy, so covered us for absolutely everything. It was $179 for the three of us for 16 days.

Not sure if I told you ladies that I had to see a GP while I was there that Dr LR organised for me.. the cost was only about $30 so not even worth the hassle of claiming on our policy for it. The level of health care in SA is exceptional, well certainly what we experienced was.

Angelmama, we exchanged $700 AUD into ZAD - which we bought in Australia to get us by until we located an ATM. Then we used our credit and debit cards for everything else. You can use your debit card at an ATM to withdraw cash all over the place, so no worries there. Also when you pay by card, the machine is brought directly to your table at dinner, so your card never leaves your sight.

    Hi everyone
Really struggling through this 2WW. My poor feet and ankles got really swollen on the way home and are taking their time going down. Don't know if it is the meds or jet lag or what but kept getting really sleepy and/or hungry. I was also really, really bloated all over. When I took my bra off getting changed, I just about yelled, it really hurt for a second. I just hate feeling so uncertain and it is doing my head in a bit and I'm getting really emotional too.

The clinic in Barbados only require a urine test on Wednesday and they go off that result. I emailed Concept about going in for a blood test and scripts for my own benefit but they havent replied so I am thinking I will go to a local GP for the test. If the test is positive, I'll worry about renewing scripts for clexane and the pessaries then. Progesterone pessaries are the only thing I'll run short of and I have crinone for a worst case scenario.
I'm so disappointed in the care factor from Concept I just dont want to bother with them anymore. Ahh well, I shall try to find something useful to do at 2.00am. I know I shouldn't be eating it but I feel like baking shortbread.

Net dr Graeme Thompson is great and you don't need to go thru concept to see him.

I am feeling that about concept today about a bill for pessaries I got for my FET it's just a rort!

Where in perth are you? Because health link beechboro supply pessaries to concept and half the price and dr t will give you a script.

Hope these pains are your bfp xxx

    Thanks Angel
I know of Dr Thompson and looked into moving to him before. I'd love to see him! Unfortunately he will only treat those with top hospital cover which I don't have. I'll worry about the pessaries once I've had the blood test. I can always front up to the counter at Concept and ask to see a nurse and deal with it that way. I will go back and hunt but on another forum, a link was given to buy pessaries on line at a very good price.

    Hi Ladies,

Net you poor thing. That 2WW is such an awful time. Try to stay positive and forget about the POAS they are often wrong. Hang in there. Your symptoms sound like a pregnancy. Fingers crossed.

Thinking of Helenmac and all the other ladies in treatment and good luck to those planning.

I had my second HCG today which rose from 575 on Day 10 to 3610 on Day 14. We are so thrilled. I have been so anxious over the weekend as last time the second test showed declining HCG and a biochemical. Fingers crossed this time we get there. Our scan is booked for the 31st Dec so we can celebrate on NYE and find out if we have one or two onboard.
