    Hi all

    Bb4me glad to hear all is progressing nicely for you.

    Pixel how are you doing?

    Sooty I was really sorry to read of your bfn. Next time will be your turn. thanks for your pm, I wasn't able to access bub hub for a while due to computer issues and then I just plum forgot about bubhub for a while.

    Abundance congrats on your positive.

    Net good luck and DO NOT POAS u will drive yourself mad.

    Gee you have all been so busy, hubby was asleep in front of the cricket last night so I took it as an opportunity to log on to this thread and catch up.

    As for me, I will go back next year but not sure when, I might go back to work in February so it will be a little bit more difficult. I will go on the pill in the next couple of months so it will be easier to do a cycle. This last cycle kind of peed me off, it should have worked so I wondered if it had something to do with Mattys birth and the difficulty whether my body is rejecting the embies cause it remembers. I am going to see Dr Matthias in Jan see what he says and I am only going to transfer the embie from Mattys cycle even though it's not a great egg, my body accepted his embie, maybe it was meant to be that way and that's why the others didn't work including my own frostie. Anyway I can't get on here very often due to hubby bit I still think about you all, now I have this thread subscribed I can keep up to date with you all.

    Who did you use for travel insurance? As some don't do it because it's Ivf.

    Angelmama, I'm just doing normal travel insurance as technically I'll only be overseas for about 2 days while PUPO. If I was travelling while pregnant with an IVF baby, it would be different, I think one cover or cover more will cover IVF pregnancies

    this was on on the SCTI page

    Below are some important things you need to know before you buy this policy.
    • You understand that this policy is for international travel and does not cover domestic travel;
    • You must have access to a valid email address in order to communicate with SCTI on matters relating to your policy (you will still have access to our Worldwide Assistance phone number for emergencies overseas);
    • You can only purchase, receive policy documents and claim with SCTI online and any claims can only be paid by direct credit into a valid Australian bank account;
    • You must be 18 years or older (or your parent or guardian must accept the Guardian Declaration) and you are authorised by each person named as an insured person to complete the application process for the Policy and make changes or cancel the policy on their behalf
    • You and the other people to be insured are, either an Australian citizen or permanent resident with no visa restrictions, or a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident with no visa restrictions who resides in Australia, or on a work permit which allows for a continuous stay of at least two years in Australia;
    • You must be purchasing the policy before you leave Australia, and all of the people to be insured intend to return to Australia on the completion of your overseas trip;
    • Your Start Date of journey must be the date you depart Australia;
    • You and the other people to be insured are not travelling with the intention of obtaining medical treatment overseas;
    • The information that SCTI (and its representatives) collects or holds about you and the other persons to be covered under the Policy will be used in accordance with our Privacy Statement.

    Sooty - OMG you poor woman. My heart goes out to you. I couldn't believe what I was reading. I am hoping like crazy it is just some rare reaction to the drugs. I will be thinking g of you on Thurs. bless your specialist. Thank goodness there are such caring people as him. I am sure he knows your journey. How could he not be good to you. Much love Hun. I am sorry you are going through this. Xxx

    Net - hoping you have been able to get some rest. I agree stay away from the POAS. it was the only time I didn't POAS. Hoping like crazy snuggling is continuing. xx

    BB4me - lovely to read that all is well. The first few weeks are very tiring. The amount of growth during that time is amazing. Your little person is taking all it can from their mumma. Be sure to try and get plenty of rest. I think it is lovely that you are going to see Wazza. He was so good to us. Likewise, he was extremely supportive and bulk billed me for most of my appts. Just love the man. I took William in to meet him three weeks ago and he was just chuffed. He is so humble and wouldn't even take my praise or thanks.

    Jodie - you have every right to feel ripped off. This fertility and donor game sometimes makes absolutely no sense at all. I hope both you and DH can find the strength and energy for your next cycle. Just keep telling yourself you got your precious little Matty from that cycle and his frosty brother or sister is waiting there for him. Xx

    Angel - as for insurance, we paid with our commonwealth bank CC and got free insurance. The CBA offer free insurance to all customers purchasing travel with their gold and platinum CC. Worth checking with your bank to see whether you have this option we were given a policy number. My husband advised the bank what we were going for and from memory we were fully covered.

    AFM - I turned the big 40 today. My mum and husband had been at me for ages about what I wanted for a present and I truly said I didn't need anything that I had been given all I ever wanted with my precious little man. I also recently returned to the endocrinologist and got the news that my thyroid is worse than when I was diagnosed with graves notwithstanding the medication. I have now been placed on x3 the amount I was on. Plan is likely thyroidectomy when my levels return to normal. Had call from specialist last week advising that after three weeks on higher dose my T4 levels have reduced from 30 to 21. It should be between 4.5-12. Anyway we are headed in the right direction thank goodness.

    Anait - so pleased to read you and bubba are doing well. How exciting, the time will literally fly herein. Won't be long until you meet your precious little person. Xx.

    Much love over to all other girls.

    Hi everyone
    I hope you all are going well

    Jodi, I wish you all the best in completing your family.

    Angel congrats on getting your flights booked. Did you do it online or through a travel agent? After this trip I have decided never to use a store front for bookings again. When I wanted to change my flights home, I didn't have access to a phone during Australian work hours (my accommodation had no phone and call boxes aren't safe to go to at night). Flight Centre just kept sending me back to the office I made my bookings. i ended up borrowing a cell phone and calling the emergency number. i felt bad about it as it wasn't an emergency but just had no other contact as the email address of the consultant I used wasn't answering. If I had booked online it would have been much easier.

    Sooty, I love reading about people passionate about their work. They are absolutely the best to have taking care of you. Good luck with your procedure and finding out what is going on.

    With the international licence, I got one before going to Barbados but in Barbados, they have their own version which I also had to get. The Australian International Licence turned out to be a waste of money

    BB and Anait, congratulations on getting there. It is really wonderful news.

    I hope Donna is doing well and will pop in at some stage.

    Laned, Happy Birthday . What you say, really resonates with me as a work colleague who became a Mum, said she knew it was a touchy subject for me but wished I could feel the selfless love she had discovered. She said if the house burned down or her husband left, she would be perfectly happy as long as she still had her baby.

    Good luck with your thyroid. If it is of any interest, I was seeing a Chinese Doctor for a while and when I did the usual yearly test for my thyroid meds at the GP, got a frantic call to come in as my TSH levels were abnormal. It turned out that they were really low and they were convinced that my thyroid levels were through the roof and I was bouncing off the walls somewhere. It all went back to "normal" once i stopped the chinese medicine. If I had the money, it would be interesting to keep boiling those herbs to see if my Hashimotos could eventually be cured.

    i love reading about Wazza. On the solo Mum's by Choice forum, they call him Wazz the God. He has helped many of them and is obviously a character.

    AFM, I caved yesterday morning and POAS was negative. The other girl who used these embryos got her positive at 6 days post transfer.
    It is 7 days past a 5 day transfer for me so very hard not to be disappointed but I am hanging in there. I'll try again in a couple of days but am not terribly hopeful at the moment. I am torn between trying ED in SA next or going back to use more of the batch in Barbados I have reserved. Whichever it is, I will need a couple of years to get my debt level down to be able to do anything.

    Net - waaaay too early for you to POAS. Don't worry, I did exactly the same and the result was also negative at that point. I promised myself that i would not test again and would wait for my blood test AND IT WAS POSITIVE!!! So try to be positive, look after yourself and throw those home pregnancy tests somewhere you won't be tempted to use them. You've been through so much, but its all not over for this cycle for you yet!

    Laned - a very Happy Birthday to you! Hope that you have an exceptional day and year.

    Angel - You can just purchase normal travel insurance. I know there are all those terms and conditions stated in the brochure. Your whole "medical procedure" lasts about 10 minutes tops - if you were going under Anaesthetic, it might be different? But think about it, if you were to fall pregnant naturally on your holiday, you wouldn't even know you were pregnant at that stage and neither would the travel company. Just state that your main reason for travel is for a holiday and you will be fine. I actually googled the "best travel policy for South Africa" and came up with a really comprehensive policy which covered us for everything - more than many of the big companies!
