I know someone in here mentioned actors & that was all I could think when watching last night. There was absolutely nothing special about food & how on earth could he think leaving the pasta til the last minute would be ok? They seemed fairly inexperienced?

Corrine did all the work. I think she could have done ok if he wasn't there to stuff it all up!

Completely agree! How can he be so smug after their effort last night?
I'm really hoping the girls just hit it completely out of the ballpark. I have a sneaking suspicion they'll be the dark horses!

This is the first season that I've seen some episodes. The pressure would be intense, but at the same time there does seem to be a bit of fore-thought and organisation, ordering and prioritisation that some couples are forgetting to run through, leaving more chance for things to go wrong. Things can go wrong anyway in a kitchen - sometimes it only takes seconds to ruin a dish!

In saying that...I do hope the more modest and nicer couples pull through...but then I guess the 'I can't believe they can be so rude', 'Can they be that sure of themselves?' factor would leave the show and ratings would drop.

Do you think the contestants have to eat their meals cold? There seems to be quite a delay between plating up, Pete & Manu tasting & then starting?

I remember reading something from one of the previous seasons saying that they did so.

I completely agree with this. When the couples who are so smug and confident get their turn to cook and stuff something up, I always expect to see a bit of a difference in their attitude/how critical they are/their scoring afterwards, but it never happens! You're probably right though - ratings!

I think so to. Wouldn't you feel a bit more sympathetic after you've gone through it. I'm sure some teams would but the temptation to talk down about other teams must win out.

I already want to punch David. Calling the girls 12 year olds and saying are they gonna serve baked beans on toast. What an ***! He reminds me sooo much of my late FIL and his young (my age) gf whom he divorced MIL for.
