    Default Hydracele & Umbillical Hernia

My 2.5 DS has a surgical review today to see about his Umbillical hernia and hydracele in his testicle. I've been told before from gp's that his hernia will most likely need to be surgically corrected due to its size.

Has anyone's child had either of these before & what is your experience with it? TIA.

All 3 of my sons have hydroceles, my middle boys is by far the biggest. Oldest 2 have seen pediatric surgeons about them and they decided not to operate and remove. DS3 is only 5 months so hasnt had his consult yet but I am sure they will leave his be too.

It is my understanding that unless the hydrocele is cauing pain or other issues, they will leave it alone rather than removing it as they tend to close up and shrink over time.

Can't help you with the hernia though I'm sorry but good luck for your appt!
