Default Did u need Clomid for all pregnancies?

I had to take Clomid for my first born and took 5 months on that to conceive.
Now we are thinking of trying again next year but I don't know if I should just go to doc to get the fert specialist to get the Clomid straight away?

It took nearly two years to get preg the first time until I was put on Clomid so I don't want to waste time

After any stories really of Clomid babies and if you used it straight away for number 2 and 3 babies etc..
    Thanks x

A friend of mine needed clomid for number 1 but then had 2 and 3 without any fertility assistance. All quite close together in age.

I am the opposite. Number 1 was conceived naturally first try but second baby needed clomid! Also wondering what will happen if we go for number 3!

Thanks bond girl. So seems like our bodies can do anything each time around.. it's just so heartbreaking trying and then realising it was pointless waste of time when I just needed ovulation help.

I don't get ny period regularly so did yours get irregular for the second baby? And for the first it was normal?,maybe that can be my sign if I need it or not

My DS was conceived in 6 months without Clomid. But with my DD we needed Clomid I and hoping we won't need it next time.

I have PCOS with very irregular cycles, predict that I ovulate once every 2/3 years so I can get pg myself but if I miss the window it's a looooong wait for the next one.
#1- clomid, first round with our second FS had tried clomid before but in different ratio/schedule for 6 months (bfp took 4yrs from our first 'let's have a baby chat)
#2- in 'prep' mode ready to start clomid so taking metformin and thyroid medication, so not entirely 'on my own'
#3- clomid, first round copying #1
Only 3.5 years age gap from oldest to youngest but we didn't want to risk another 4yr wait if it wast going to work and I am getting too old

    Thanks for the reply.
How did u use the Clomid the first time for it to not work for you?

Yes I'm the same don't want to risk getting preg now if for some miracle I can conceive without Clomid but also don't want it to take months or years if I don't .. if I'm making sense!

    Hi,

After my dd and when ready to TTC again I thought 'let's just try naturally' and really regret it because I just had another miscarriage. Did clomid the next cycle and fell pregnant with this bub- I'm currently 30w.

I guess it depends on the exact reason you use clomid. For me it was to move o forward because I had a terrible lutal phase defect and there was no chance of good implantation. In hindsight it was dumb for me to try, but I bought into people telling me one pregnancy fixes your body. Didn't work for me! Graduating from 5 miscarriages to 6 wasn't the outcome I wanted

    Good luck TTC xx

#1 - 1 year ttc naturally, then 6x 100mg clomid, break, lap and more clomid = bfp (about 2.5 years)
#2,3,4,5&6 - all conceived first month ttc, no clomid (4, 5&6 angel babies)
    #7 - took 6months ttc, 3months 50mg clomid (angel baby)
    #8 - conceived first month 50mg clomid

So - after our first we were able to conceive #2 and 3 naturally, as well as some angel babies, but then needed help to conceive again. Could tell things were out again by my acne, weight gain, cyst pain.

We used clomid to conceive dd after 14 months ttc and our third cycle on clomid. We decided earlier this year, she would have been 14 months that we would give it until her second birthday ttc naturally and then ask for referrals. We got preg on 2nd month but mc at 8 weeks. So the fact I got preg means I'm ovulating and now I'm really confused about when we will ask for referrals to fs. It's expensive and if we can avoid it that would be so much easier. But mc was July and I'm still waiting!

Little Ted that's so true I might come off pill and see what my face does cuz last time I just broke out terribly in acne.
Maybe that can be my sign.
I was put on 50mg Clomid as I wasn't ovulating. I didn't get a period in months and when I did it was like two days of brown discharge and months again with nothing.

I'm so excited to try again but want to fall preg in about 6month time not now..
Thanks for all your stories so it seems my body could fall again naturally if I tried but in the end I could need Clomid again. I think I will see what my body does off the pill for now and just use protection with condoms until we are ready to see that bfp
