    Default Constipation

    My 1 week old is constipated can anyone help me with safe remedies that have helped there bubs get thro this please. She is formula fed. Thank u in desperate need of advice...

    Put one less scoop of formula but the same amount if water you would usually do.

    Formula constipated babies and this is a common issue with newborns. Add a 1/4 teaspoon brown sugar to some water, dissolve and give it to baby - this will clear up the constipation ASAP. I'm sure someone will disagree with this method but it's tried tested and works. Good luck xx

    Just add 10ml more what to the bottle each feed. Also check the iron content on the brand you are using, I found with my DS certain brands constipated him more then others. We are now on Nan Comfort which has the least amount of all brands (that I've found & tried)

    I wouldn't be switching around formula doses without seeing a dr first. I definitely wouldn't be giving a newborn sugar.

    What formula is bub on? Some make bubs more constipated than others, though formula fed bubs can go a few days without pooing. I Would try warm baths and bicycling of bubs legs and possibly switching formulas. .

    The brown sugar method or infants friend you can find it in chemists and it's all natural that worked for my son

    Seen peadiatrician today and he said the same thing, to give a teaspoon of brown sugar in feeds.
