This is why you should be taking the mini pill whilst bf. especially if you've got your periods back.

I found the minipill fine the first time, but with the second baby it was giving me a complete menstrual cycle every 12-14 days. Drove me nuts. So this time the ob recommended the depo injection, which was fine for the first 2 injections, but I reacted badly the third time.

I use the pill and have taken it long term (about 17 years with a couple of breaks along the way). The pill I'm taking is called Loette and for me personally it has no real side effects. Periods are much lighter and less painful that's for sure!

I think any pill takes time for your body to adjust to it. Sometimes it can take a few months.

How long does it take for the pill to become effective?

    We use natural methods too.

In 8 years we haven't had one 'scare'. I fell pregnant both times in the first month of trying too, so it's not like I'm infertile.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea. But I am far more scared of hormonal contraceptives than natural methods.

Xdh and I were together for 7 years, we used natural methods & have 1 x 3.5yo DD.

Additional hormones in my body = NO WAY, I just can't cope

Xdh didn't like any if his options

So we used timing & withdrawal methods. Effectiveness = 99.999%

I would find the withdrawal method very frustrating!!!!!!!

We used the "withdrawal" method.. Currently 33 weeks pregnant. Let's just say, after we have bubby I will be researching contraception
