I got implanon in a week after DS was born and kept it a month over 3yrs. I already had extra weight on from pregnancy so while it didn't make me gain it made weight harder to lose. I dropped 4kgs almost overnight once it was removed.

The first 2 years were fantastic. It stopped my period altogether, no cramps, bloating, nothing. This was a big deal for me as I've always had REALLY bad irregular periods. Sometimes the cramps on days 1 and 2 were so bad I'd be physically vomiting. Mum used to faint during hers as a teen so i guess it's genetic. When year 3 came I started bleeding again, more irregular spotting then blood and no other 'period' signs. I'm not using any birth control ATM as of 4 weeks ago and got my first period today - torture!

I am currently on the Brenda pill which is a high oestrogen pill. I have tried different contraceptives such as the implanon and nuva ring, but I found they made me a weeping mess. I would cry if my dinner was late at a restaurant ugh.

I'm on the pill (Levlen). It seems to agree with me. No noticeable side effects and AF is much more bearable when I'm on it.

My friends use only condoms. They love them... But I don't think they know the difference if you know what I mean

Ugh, I friggen HATE condoms!! DP and I are VERY spontaneous with sex (anywhere, any time iykwim), I'd be pregnant now for sure if we were relying on condoms!

Gosh, I haven't used confirms for years, like before kids were born. I would rather go without I hate them that much.

The last time we used condoms was about 3 months after we met, right after we'd had sexual health checks and been cleared of stds.

    I'm on the pill.

I've been on it for over 5 years straight now, and it's been fine.

I don't notice any mood issues, I don't think it's made me gain any weight either.

It does make my period less horrible though... I did go a month without it entirely, and my period was heavy as anything, painful as anything, and all round god-awful.

Im on the pill. Been on it since I was 16. Obviously off it when ttc and then back on it as soon as my period after my bubs. The only side effect is sometimes I have headaches. Each time within a month of stopping the pill I have fallen pregnant. Also I hardly get a period when on the pill. Its literally a little bit of reddish brown discharge for a few days.
