It was 2wks yesterday since finding out the heart had stopped, only at 10days post m/c. I had a d&c with our first loss and even though the dr assured me then that the bleeding 2.5wks on was 'to be expected', this time around at 6days post m/c, she was pushing me to have a d&c as 'everything should have left my body & the bleeding should have settled by now' I don't know that anyone would stop bleeding within 6 days, my af lasts longer than that!

I am having another bt next week, last weeks test came back at 6wk levels. Hopefully by the next test they will be back to nothing. It sucks that I am 'more pregnant' hormonally than people who actually are pregnant!

Mrst - dont worry, I wont stay bitter at the world forever. Like any loss, there are steps to grieving. My way of thinking about why it happened now is that after our next baby, that's it for us - this little angel didn't want our first angel to be alone so joined them so the next can join DD and complete our family. That way they will all have company. awwwww

babymaker - sorry there was no bfp...yet

Michellek I think there's a higher risk of infection the longer products of conception are left inside the body and that may cause some fertility issues in itself. But at only 2 weeks- your dr isn't really giving you enough time. If by the next af the products haven't been expelled and your levels are still staying at a high level without dropping... I'd consider a d&c (but that's just me)

It's horrible waiting in limbo land.

Are you going to try straight away after the levels and cycles have sorted it self out?

I'm very sorry you have to go through this.

Michelle good on you for sticking to your guns. That's where being educated yourself helps, because sometimes unfortunately you're just a number in their stats and not a real person.
I know you have to go through all your steps of grieving - it's so good to see that you're getting there faster than last time, but so horrid that you have to have multiple times to compare to :-(
I know you initially said you were going to jump back into things, I hope you still feel that way. At least you know you're capable of catching the little swimmer, just gotta keep him next time xx
When you're feeling down just picture both your little seeds up there making mischief together and how lovely it will be when your DD has the same with her sibling.

Michelle - I love that you are looking at this the same way I would too! This angel bub will be company for your other angel bub the next will be company for your DD. That's a beautiful way to look at it. I would also hate the world and baby talk right now too - it's completely natural for what you are going through hun xx

ETA - And it's much better then hating/blaming yourself this time. Definite progress!!!

Michellek, I was in the first time mums due in February group, but DD came on 2 March.

20 months is a fun age isn't it!?

I think you are looking at things in a very positive way, I'm glad you have faith in something that will get you through the hard times

Thanks Kazza, will PM you though I don't know my exact time of birth. Ta!!

Michelle I'm getting worried about having an early ultrasound now. I'm booked on for a 7 week dating scan and am now thinking of cancelling it!

Are dating scans a private system thing, or state based? I'm in SA and had DD through the public system and we were never offered or needed a dating scan.

I actually question their purpose, as you can still get the date at the 12 week scan, they seem like a waste of resources / money to me.

Coco I'm with you on that one. They make me paranoid too! I know people say they don't cause m/c but I know of a few that started bleeding after it etc. It could just be a coincidence I guess. Our clinic does 6 week scans too I think so I guess we will do it when it comes along or we may choose not to - not sure yet! I also know a lot of people that have had the scan and gone on to have a completely healthy pregnancy. Go with your gut
