    But it's not even close to the $45k people can earn up to before ftb is affected.

    But yep, I just sat down and did the math, after parenting payments are added single parents were $17.48 better off a fortnight than partnered parents.

    Yes, but when partnered, our income was 43k.

    Now single my income is 29k, then he pays 5k in child support. Which works out to be less than when we were together.

    In my case I pay almost double the amount of rent now in comparison to when I was partnered...yet get less rent assistance As you pointed out, a single person with a child needs the same number of bedrooms as a couple with a child...

    Hmm.. well I have no idea then. My FTB entitlement was significantly greater once single, even when I wasn't eligible for any parenting payment.

    Not true, I was on parenting payment partnered with a husband who was unfairly dismissed from his job and is unable to receive payments because his residency is still being processed.

    I wish I qualified for SPP etc... I'd be $409.08 better off every fortnight.
