Bbhope... sorry I don't know about anti dsDNA. I guess it's best to email Dr M about it (or phone conference him). With two things, I'm pretty sure he's be wanting you to do something. Even with just ANA, many FSs are prescribing both Aspirin tablets and Clexane injections, even the FSs who don't "believe" in the other immune issues, so you'll probably be wanting to do those for your FET.

    Default Neuopgen

Hi Feather – I will PM you details on Medicine House in India when I looked into it. Though I don’t need it now. It is cheaper and one of the girls has ordered from there before. Otherwise you can phone around the chemists and someone should beable to get it in. Good luck for SA – you must be leaving soon? We are going back for a 2nd attempt as well soon, so know the feeling.

    Hi to everyone else.

    Good luck Francesthecat!

My local fs originally agreed to do my intralipids for me locally so I didn't have to go to Sydney but he just called me and said he doesn't feel comfortable doing them now!!! I got the 'there's no proof it makes any difference' lecture and that there are too many risks associated with them and I could have a severe reaction blah blah.

Has anyone had any bad reaction to them? I'm peeved with him at the moment. I said I'm getting them done no matter what you think!

Just wondering what risks he's talking about. Anyone know?

So sick of doctors and all these hurdles. Everything is so hard. I just want to cycle. I'm not getting any younger!!!

Soclose, I don't know of any dangers with intralipids, they are just an egg and soy mixture? Dr m does give phenergen half way through so I guess there must be a risk of some kind of reaction but I've never felt any different at all, just tired from the phenergen. I thought the risks were more with ivig as they are a blood product

SoClose....I've not heard of any adverse reactions to the Intrallipids. I'm wondering if your FS just means "any" reaction that someone may have with anything hospital related, e.g. air bubbles in the mixture, some blood clotting reaction??? I think it's more probably because it's just not widely known about, so others are sceptical. Originally my FS wouldn't even acknowledge that ANA might play a part and that aspirin and Clexane is helpful. 18 months later, he'd been to a few conferences and admitted that it's the way to go. It will take a while for all to catch up, more research to be done etc etc. Unfortunately for us, this has meant many of us have had battles and will still continue to do so for a while yet.

Thanks timetoshine and mgcbertie. I think he's being overly cautious as he's not confident enough to do it. Plus not believing in it wouldn't help! Another
FS at the clinic has done them once before so waiting to find out if he will do it for me. Fingers crossed.
