I would for sure. I often spoke to Dh about the subject, if anything had happened to him before we could start our family. He was happy to have me do this, though as you do, we never got around to documenting it. Though it doesn't matter now as we have two DD's with plans to ttc this month

I just couldn't imagine spending this life without him and more to the point without any of our babies

Slightly OT, but I received the storage invoice recently and said to exDH we should discard or donate since we'll now never use it. He's currently refusing to do that, saying 'you never know'..??! Uuumm....yes I do know, so if you want to keep it then you pay for it!
You can use it without his consent? Wonder what the implications are for child support.
Can't believe him saying "you'll never know"- geez!

No offense to exDH, but...that is whack!

I don't really have strong thoughts on this one either way.

If there is proof the couple were together, then why not?

A family can be the deciding factor in whether or not a deceased person has their organs donated... why is their sperm any different?

Honestly, I don't think I'd use DP's sperm if he died unless we were quite old and it would be perhaps the last chance I had to have kids. I'd rather just go find someone else rather than be the single parent of 2 kids without either having a relationship with their father.

Also the same one who ignored my request to sign the divorce papers for awhile. He has since agreed, but yet to have them filed. I'm giving him 1 month before I do so as a sole applicant instead!

Is he starting to regret what he did?

Interesting point about CS. Personally if I was to utilise the frozen embryo (with his consent) after we separated, then I would do so knowing I would not receive CS for that child. I don't think the fob should have to pay in those circumstances at all.

You have me curious about the legal aspect now though - off to google!

He said recently that he's struggling in his life right now. But he knows he wouldn't have a snowballs chance in hell of ever coming back, so would never admit regretting his actions, even if he did now.
