FS couldn't figure out why we couldn't get pregnant then after we demanded my BF to be tested he came back with slow swimmers or they where going back wards. Did a round last Easter it was successful then failed at 7 weeks. Our "FS" then suddenly left Repromed (we later found out he was withholding test results from patients....myself included). We got a new FS who is amazing he said from looking at all my scans I had endo (was never told this) and a tumour growing inwards and outwards of my uterus. I had a laporoscopy 5 weeks after I met with him, I had stage 3 endo and a fibroid tumour that was calcified, all this was on my scans that where file at Repromed. All symptoms I gave them said I had what I had but again tests results where withheld. Money talks at private clinics. 4 months after laporoscopy we used our only frozen embryo it to failed on day 10 though. Then boom we got pregnant naturally off my period from that failed transfer. I'm due end of July now. Our FS is also our OB and also does gyno. If we had had him from the beginning he would of put through a laporoscopy first not a round of IVF and not clomid either and we would have around $12k in our bank accounts now. Our old FS works at flinders now.......
They are some pretty serious allegations perhaps you should raise them with AHPRA if you haven't already? If it is true malpractice then the dr needs to be dealt with by the medical board.

The results where on the screen in black and white for the FS to read and tell me, I read it all with my own eyes. Even stated that I had endo and tumour and was typed in that I didn't have it. Hence why they left the clinic quite quickly. My new FS see's about 20 women a month who has been told incorrect results and misdiagnosed to be begin with. They aren't about making a tonne of $$ but for the end results of helping to create families.

As I said, if you believe this to be a case of malpractice then you should report it to AHPRA.

You have a responsibility to raise a notification, particularly given that this comment:
Our old FS works at flinders now.......
identifies the practitioner. We had a terrible experience at the clinic I suspect you're now attending. From my experience all private fertility medicine is just run as a business, and there are enough unknowns that most of the time they just keep you cycling, taking your money, and relying on the numbers game, until you get pregnant or give up.

Provide some evidence or it just looks like sour grapes. Without evidence it may constitute defamation.

It's definitely not sour grapes. If we had to do IVF again we wouldn't go to either clinic. We settled with them privately like a few others did. The FS in question was asked to resign so they did so they could get another job. I know to many people that have been to the private clinic and to many issues with them stuffing up their cycles. Everyone works differently I didn't and do not have the energy for a court case we have and had been trying for a child for years and had already suffered to much emotional stress over the last few years

It wouldn't mean a court case just a report to AHPRA. Also it needs to be said that your new doctor should not be disclosing info about the other doctor to you (unprofessional conduct) and I would hope that they have also reported the doctor in question to AHPRA if there is true malpractice at play.

I agree gingermillie - i would be considering that the professionals at 'private clinic' should not be gossiping about the specialist who has moved on, but rather follow ethical protocols of reporting concerns to AHPRA and the AMA.
I would also consider perhaps the chatter about what may have happened in private clinic may be not objective - if a doctor had committed malpractice, private clinic would have objected to providing a reference, & the other provider service would have undertaken some very serious risk assessments regarding these allegations. Adelaide is a small place - & the health care community is even smaller.

I know what i know and I know the others well some of them that it to happened to. I have not once mentioned any names and nor did my new FS you can actually have a conversation without talking about people directly and mentioning names. And these talks DID NOT take place in the "specialist" clinics. So ladies before you start nastiness think about if this where to of happened to you and what you would of done !!!!

We aren't being nasty I don't know why you think that. We have just said that these are serious allegations and if true should absolutely be reported to AHPRA so the medical professional can be investigated and if found to be practicing dangerously prevent future instances. That's the right thing to do to ensure safe medical practice, especially with such vulnerable patients.

If this had happened to me - i would have lodged freedom of information applications with the pricate clinic, and once having written evidence of the malpractice, lodged formal complaints with the Director of the clinic, AHPRA, & the AMA.
I think medical malpractice is horrific and risks bringing all of healthcare into disrepute. I would not want anyone else to undergo the same experience with the same doctor in a different provider clinic.
