Default How does low amniotic fluid level affect baby's development?

    Hi Ladies,

I am 34 weeks pregnant and my amniotic fluid level has been gradually decreasing from 8.3 cm at 28 weeks to 7 cm at 32 weeks and now to 6.7 cm.
Last ultrasound also showed that the baby’s growth has slowed down a lot and her abdomen is now measuring less than it did a week ago.
My OB didn’t seem to be worried about it as it is still within the range. But to me there’s an obvious steady decrease in measurements.
I’m really upset now and worried about the baby.

Has anyone had low AFI and slow fetal growth during pregnancy? How did it affect the baby?

    Thanks!!

As soon as my fluid hit 7 (and was told it was a hard 7 to find) I had an emergency c-section at 35 weeks. Bubs all healthy. Maybe get a second opinion???

My bub was induced because of low fluid/growth at 38+3. She is perfect, still small now though!

I had an AFI of 3 and was induced the next day at 40 + 8. Basically can mean the placenta may be starting to slow down/not be as healthy, or it may be to do with bubs kidney function etc.

Dd was perfectly healthy!! Hopefully your iv will monitor closely and keep an eye on it.
