Yes it was. Just the other day she asked me where I got my shoes, I told her a little fib about it.

We have a neighbour that lives behind us that seems to copy what we do.
For example: we have black shade sail posts, next minute he paints his black, we put rocks in our backyard, next thing we note he does the same thing with the exact same type of rock, dh welded and made our clothes line and the next thing the neighbour made one similar. And so on! We thought it was coincidental at first but now we realise the neighbour just can't think for himself because it's happened with too many things. Annoying!
Haha, you need to go and buy the biggest, ugliest most expensive water feature or sculpture you can find and put it out where he can't miss it. Then once he had his, return yours

I could be your neighbour lol.... We have no idea about Home decorating or landscaping, so if I notice another villa in our lot doing something and it looks good, we go that's a good idea and do likewise. We also attend our neighbours open houses for inspiration too
There is no malice involved at all we just need a little help, what's wrong with that if it doesn't hurt anyone?

In regards to the OPs question, there is a difference between imitation and ripping off somebody's idea....

It depends. If I bought a new dress, and my friend said "Hey that's a nice dress, I'm going to buy the same one." Then that wouldn't bother me. But stealing other people's ideas and claiming them as your own is just rude.
