Anyone have any ideas? My daughters teacher is female and loves her rum she a north qld girl !! Would it be inappropriate to buy her a bottle of rum, or was thinking something made with rum? Or maybe gift card from the bottle shop?

Alcohol is always accepted!!! Otherwise movie tickets, drive through coffee voucher.
Personally I don't like getting chocolates, creams or candles (I'm fussy with candles!)

My husband (primary teacher) loves alcohol!!!
Movie tickets are a very good idea. He doesn't like chocolate so I love Easter and Christmas cause I get it ALL!

I get Dan Murphys vouchers. If anyone deserves a drink its the people that teach my kids.

Dymocks giftcard or movie vouchers. I think giving alcohol is very risky unless you know they like it. We had to give away a $100 bottle of scotch dh was given since the only person in our family who would drink it shouldn't.

I second the no chocolates, candles or body lotions and try and avoid nick nacky types of things. In saying that I have some nice Willow figurines that I have definitely kept. Is alcohol allowed on school grounds? I know we weren't allowed any on grounds so it would have to be a gift card. I've known some teachers to get jewellery when the whole class has put in for something, but you would have to know them well and it takes organisation. Set of nice coffee mugs, good tea/coffee are always good. Body shop voucher. Book shop voucher or nursery voucher. Good refillable pen engraved from class.

In saying all that, I'd be happier if the class put in to support a local children's charity or children's ward instead.
