Got stuffed around this morning trying to get the car-seat installed. We were booked in for 8.30am & when we go there the gates were locked & no-one was around. Eventually got someone's attention & they had someone come out to us - they said the guy wasn't there & they had no idea where he was. Many phone-calls etc later it turned out the guy was sick & hadn't notified anyone and that there was another guy on his way but wouldn't arrive for an hour & a half! So after already waiting there for an hour we went home to do some other things & then DH just had to go back again to try & get the seat installed.

When someone finally did ring us (as we were leaving) she said that she could reschedule till 2.50pm today or put us in tomorrow. I told her that wasn't an option as my husband had taken the morning off work for this & could not take the whole day off or take time off tomorrow. She wasn't very accomodating or helpful & said 'well I guess you can come back at 10.30am but you will have to wait'. That doesn't really seem fair, we were booked in a 8.30am. Why should we now have to wait after we've already been stuffed around?

I couldn't go back cause I was getting so stressed about it so DH went alone but he is under strict instructions to be assertive & to tell them that he is NOT waiting until 2.50pm (when the next available appointment is).

This is ridiculous! I'm due in two weeks & at this point we don't have a car seat installed! I understand people get sick but it's common courtesy to ring people & reschedule, that's really not that hard!! DH will do it himself if he has to but given he has never done it before we would rather a professional put it in for us.

This is from last night, but I wanted to share it... We had a blackout at 4 am and it was at that point that DD decided she wanted to wake up and "watch TV little bit?" Erm, no DD.
And then when the power came back on I heated her up a bottle of milk to help her settle back down to sleep. Except it wasn't milk. In my sleepy haze I had accidentally poured orange juice into her bottle and heated it up for 30 seconds. Luckily I realised before giving it to her

Grr DH - given our laundry & washing lines are in our garage, why do you have to leave stuff like power tools & extension cords strewn everywhere? Now half the time I have to do laundry I have to move all your **** first so I can actualky get to the clothes line without tripping over. Half that stuff lives in the shed, I dont see why you cant put things away when you are finished with them!

I can't believe the stupidity. Driving home from school down a 50kph road this evening, behind someone who was reading.a.book. while driving I could see the book balanced on the steering wheel. And when they had to stop because of traffic (3 times), they kind of forgot to go again because they were READING!!! Seriously?? At least they managed to stop when the car in front did but c'mon, what book is so important.

When we went travelling years ago, we caught a taxi to a dawn service in France in the very early hours of the morning. The driver was talking on the phone, reading a book and making notes the whole trip. I had my eyes shut, and hand clamped around the door and other hand clamped around DH's arm. We walked back...
