Yeah good idea!! I'd rather avoid the shops with a new lil bubba

I totally reckon I could do it. Mind you there's only me and DD here, one cooked dinner usually covers a few extra meals and most weeknights we eat eggs on toast anyway because we get home so late. I have a pretty well-stocked pantry and freezer and I generally only buy what's on special at the shops anyway (old habit from being a poor student!)

The one area I would fall down is buying lunch at work - I just looooove a sandwich prepared by someone else! So that's $30 right there...

Well I was just a bit of a piglet ... I've now used up my last tablespoon of cocoa making a mug brownie :/ It was Delish!!! I served it with a little dollop of vanilla yoghurt. Yummo!!!

Ok I've worked out my weekly plan. I need to buy milk, bread, eggs, bananas and another fruit (probably watermelon but I'll check prices). I haven't added the other fruit into the plan yet. I'll also add snacks if we eat other things from the cupboard. I'm sure the boys will love it if I bake jam drops or something as I rarely do because I'm such a sweet tooth and want to eat them all up!!

As you can see I'm not eating the same thing as the boys very often (I'm on the top row of each day) This is kind of the way it is here anyway as I feed them at 5:30pm, do the bed routine then cook and enjoy my dinner in peace I also have to eat fairly soft food due to a recent surgery.

Hope you can read my list properly.

Not a recipe as such ... I always just throw things together. But I usually use a tin of salmon, an egg, multigrain bread crumbs, onion and herbs (fresh or dried).... I'll be using dried during this challenge.

I just put in whatever I have ... I'm using an italian herb mix that I have in cupboard this time but I've put in fresh parsley, chives, etc in the past. I just grill them in my George Forman. I use to do them on the stove top in a frying pan/grill pan but I just like them cooked better in my George.

to stop an argument what about allocating $1 per person per day - so if you're a family of 5 then your allocation is $35 etc
