    Default Falling pregnant with implanon

Yes it is the million dollar question that we have all asked - can you fall pregnant with the implanon inserted?

I have been around the block in the last year and a half with mine in - the moodiness, the tender breasts, crazy discharge etc. All those what if signs. However my period has always been a regular 40 days on it. Before implanon and DD it was 21-24 days!

I'm due around that 40 day mark tomorrow, and I can't wait. Because the last week I have had thrush, which I've only ever experienced with pregnancy, and I've started feeling nauseous, especially around dinner time, again same as when I was last pregnant. Last week I smelled tuna - which I love - and was ready to throw up, again haven't been like that since I was pregnant because I was able to eat it again once DD was born.

The other usual suspect symptoms are occurring - excess discharge, moodiness, but my nipples are only sore if I touch them. My sense of taste has gone out the window.

I thought I was fine because my sexual partner used a condom - however there has been a tell tale time when I know it broke. I fell pregnant on pre-cum last time and I don't think my extreme fertility has been hugely affected by the implanon since I still have regular periods whereas others don't at all.

I would put it down to phantom symptoms and the usual but I've never had thrush and such acute sickness symptoms since I've had the implanon in.

Do you know if anyone has fallen pregnant on the implanon? Or have thoughts on this?

Hoping to see red in the few days or I'll be extremely worried!

Nothing is 100% so yes you can.

Why don't you do a test?

I had two implanons over 5 1/2 years and never fell pregnant. Got it removed when starting ttc and fell pregnant second time trying.

I fell pregnant while on the pill as i missed one day. So im 100% sure you can get pregnant while on the pill! Implanon however, i wouldnt have thought so as it stops ovulation.....
i got implanon removed after 10mths when we decided to try and get pregnant again for our 2nd bub. i never had an AF while on it, never had any issues, i found it great. It took 4 cycles for me to fall pregnant. It also took 4 cycles for my AF to return.
I have it in again now and it's great. I guess symptoms differ for each woman.
You should get a blood test to be sure.

I had it for 3 yrs prior to ttc. I had my periods regularly while on it. Didn't fall pregnant and in fact took 6 months to fall after it was removed.

No test done yet, but I am experiencing extreme discharge that could be the pre-period discharge I usually experience or the warning discharge that goes with the nausea I'm still having...
Will get the test today if I still don't see red. Trying not to think about it until then (impossible!). I'm in for either a killer period or the shock of my life, unplanned is the understatement of the year as I'm a single mum to DD already.
Shall keep you updated and thanks for the thoughts.

Peed on one test yesterday afternoon, negative.
Thought I seen red, turned out to be light spotting.
Peed on second test this morning, dud test. Nothing showed at all.
I have a GP appointment today so I'll ask nicely to be tested there, the symptoms are still strong but working out from an LMP of 41 days that my HCG levels should definitely show on any test so I'm doubtful but best to be safe.
