    Default Tubal ligation

If you've had it done, can you tell me how you feel about it?
My OB has offered it with my c section but I want to hear from personal experience

I had it done then 10 yrs later had a reversal and are now pregnant.

Even though I've had a 3yr struggle to get pregnant including ivf, surgery & mc I still don't regret having had it done.

I also had it done at time of c/s. I do wonder if it contributed to my difficult recovery and post partum hemorrhage.
I had no ongoing side effects/symptoms from the ligation. My period/weight/libido all remained the same.

I'm having a c/s with this bub but will not be having my tubes tied again. That's a 110% definite.

I alternate between letting god decide from here on in how many more children I have and looking into alternate contraception.

Please be aware it's no longer reversible as a Medicare funded op. we looked at doing it and we're told if we change our minds it's around 10k now to reverse as everything is out of pocket- the surgery, anaesthetics, hospital stay etc. and if Medicare won't find it most private health funds won't touch it either. We decided to wait as we weren't 100% sure. We are now expecting number 6 and we are now 100% sure so DH has had the snip....

With my private health insurance and Medicare rebates we were out of pocket about $2500.

I would not do it thinking that later on its reversible as there are no guarantees at all.

My dr to be honest didn't seem particularly confident of success but for me personally I went into the reversal thinking what will be will be.
I'd already had 4 ivf cycles as we had been recommended to do that rather than reversal due to success rates.

Have you looked into the rod in your arm? I think that lasts 3 yrs?
