    Default Bushfire go pack

So with the fire season here I am putting together our go pack and a stay pack for my DH.

I can find lists of things to include in the stay pack but trying to write lists for the go pack and get what I can together now.

Specifically what documents? So far I have a list of

    - Birth cert
    - Marriage cert
    - Passports
    - Mortgage docs
    - Insurance policies

    - Laptop/iPad
    - Camera
    - Baby books/photo albums
    - DS's health record
    - Jewellery box
    - Clothes
    - Medications
    - Basic toiletries

I don't want to have more than I need as apparently here, last fire the first they heard of it was flames outside so had no time to get things and go, but then I want to get everything I should.

    Thanks for any input

Just quickly...there is an app for free called 'fires near me' and it uses ur phones gps to show all fires in your area, the distance from ur house, whether the firies want you to evacuate and whether it is under control or not. Its the official nsw fire services app so it is updated quite regularly. We live rurally and have all been advised to have it.

    Your list looks really good

The only thing I may add is some cash? Just in case the power is shut off and eftpos machines are down, you may need to purchase emergency supplies

That's awesome but not sure if that's the same for rural wa?

Apparently the one in our street didn't even get onto the fesa website until people had started evacuating. We only have 1 way out and it's through bush so anything I can do for early warning is important

We live about 40 mins from my parents which is outskirts of suburbia and no problems for fire risk there. Will add it to the stay pack tho, thanks

We live in a new area but are surrounded by grass land. At my parents I already have certified copies of all of our birth certs and marriage etc. in a storage tub in our garage I have 6 nappies (3 in nappies), a change of clothes for all of us (just shorts and t shirts), the original birth/marriage certs, a Tupperware tub of formula (enough for 5 bottles- in case we are evacuated and I'm not here with my boobs) I change the formula on the 1st of each month, and enclosed shoes for everyone. Last time we evacuated the fire was 100m away before we knew so everyone jumped in the car barefoot I had just gotten home from work so was in the shower so I left in undies and a t shirt. In the boot of both cars are my SES overalls and boots.

Just found an Australia wide one emergency aus and you can set it to your location. It seems good and will send notifications of close fires, plus lists planned burns etc.

Thanks so much for the tip!
