I had big drops which resulted in my Levemir dose being reduced by 10 units. My diet had changed a little but I think mainly because I started taking acidophilus tablets.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this thread. I am 34 weeks 6 days, and just found out yesterday that I have GD after 3 GTTs. Baby is already in the 96th percentile and weighing over 3kgs. Have docs appoint and diabetes nurse next week to learn more. But looks like I'll be meeting my little girl earlier than expected.

@kookika, welcome! Wow, not long for you to go now. re the GD diagnosis. Hopefully the diet won't be too much of a change for you, and only for a month or so.

My OB has said to me that he will most likely want my bubba out when I hit the 37/38 week mark, depending on size. And my diabetes dr said she aims for babies around the 3.5kg mark. I have a growth scan in 3 weeks time and then another at 36 weeks.

Do you have any queries at this point? I might be able to offer you some advice from my GD experience.

I admit it took me quite a while to get my head around it. I was shocked at being diagnosed with it TBH as I'm within normal weight range, eat healthily and exercise regularly. Go figure! Oh, well, it has meant that I'm not tempted to indulge during pregnancy, so hopefully that will mean I get my old body back relatively quickly!

I'm only 19weeks atm, so still haven't done my test. Procrastinating that! But had GD with ds1 & dd and after a big dd2 (4.3kg) when told I didn't have gd I'm keen to stick to a GD diet as much as possible. When are you due? Also, I can't be induced as I had a c-section with ds1, hoping for Vbac again this time.
