No we haven't looked into anything as yet....do you know if that is something you can do through your GP? :-)

You can definitely do it through your GP that's where we started!

    That's so good to hear!
Do you mind if I ask how you guys went? Did they find any issues?
It's a daunting thought possibly having to go down the road of getting help.
A part of me is wondering if it's just the fact that I'm now 30 is it taking longer for that reason, I had my other children between 19 and 25. But obviously the fact my partner has never had children poses a question mark too.
Thanks so much for your advice :-)

It's a tough one! Having children before is a good sign but I guess you never know.
I had/have more issues than you can poke a stick at. It all started for me with a bad papsmear result and escalated from there. While I was in the middle of getting myself sorted, DH was tested. The result came back low. We were devastated and started talking about adoption. He had to give another sample tho as they said it may have been because of the gap of him getting it to the hospital to checked. Next sample was above average LOL!! So we knew it wasn't him.
It never hurts to check...and re check if it's bad.

    Hello ladies..happy International Women's Day!

Just popping in to say that my DH's first sperm test came back with low everything and he was devastated. He also did a home one and took it in. The second one at the clinic was really good across count and motility and it was only low morphology.. Always good to get a second one!

So a younger friend has told me last week she is pregnant ( only been married 6mths ) and last night I caught up with a friend who has a baby and a pregnant friend.. I swear, 80% of the conversation was about childbirth, pregnancy or babies. They know my troubles also which shocked me as it was ALL about babies..
I left feeling sad that i couldn't participate, angry my partner doesn't get emotional about it like I do, and feeling like 'sod babies, I have more interesting things in my life' but ultimately it really hurts. I feel at times like a complete dud..

    Anyone else feel like this?

    Hi all
We did two clomid, two iui and fell pregnant with bub on ivf (Hypnobub 4 months old). It was a very emotional experience and I couldn't bear to be around people with babies and even deleted people from facebook. It just felt like a slap in the face. My husband was fine but I had a low egg count, subseptate uterus and unexplained fertility issues (not ovulating). We did all the tests after 6 months ttc. I suspected something was 'wrong' with me as I never had the ovulation signs that I had heard other woman and my doctor describe and had very painful periods. If I had waited 1-2 years I may have missed my window of opportunity and I'm only 33.

The clinics do have support groups (and counselors) you might need to ask for their details. Today Show just mentioned some cheaper ivf options coming due to tough competition too! I also used acupuncture to compliment my treatments. Your fertility clinic should be able to advise on acupuncturists who specialise in fertility. This helps with energy, pain, moods and fertility

Good luck. It's a very exciting path to be on

Miracle I had a really down moment last month just like that. I deleted my Facebook and said goodbye to all the social media sites. I see people who don't have healthy lifestyles or people that don't have to change a thing and it really bothers me. It never use to. I also get annoyed with DH cos now he thinks it horrible that I find it hard to be happy for people. I told him that it's not that I'm not happy for them, it's because it wasn't me...again. I think we all will feel like this every now and then after trying for so long. Men don't understand.
    Well, most don't.

If IUI doesn't work I hope IVF does get cheaper because if it doesn't it's just more time before we get pregnant because we will have to save up for a little while. You would think that the government would provide more support getting people to have more children. Ohhhh well.

We just need to keep positive ladies. It's challenging but one day it will be our turn. One day.....

    Hi SJ,

Thank you for replying. We have been on a TTC break but I think seeing our friends on Friday bought up all this emotion on both sides.. We both tried to act like we didn't care but over the course of the weekend we both just got really down..
I had a long chat to DH today and we are have had a heart to heart. It was important to discuss the potential of what life would look like without kids..

It's so hard what all of us are going through.. We deserve medals!!

We are going to go straight to IVF with our local hospital..because its public its only $1500.. Have you looked into your local public system? Apart from being cheaper in Sydney it's the same doctors that run Genea!

I know, all you want to do is be happy for them and you struggle. I definitely have my down days like that.
Over the weekend a lady can to the door trying to sell her oil paintings, DH came a got me because he found one he liked for the kids room. It melted my heart and we have been in a really great place since. I'm feeling really optimistic at the moment. I def know how you feel tho. I really hope you guys get lucky your first try with IVF!!!

I just did my second injection this morning. Didn't freak me out as much today. The needle is daunting but doesn't hurt at all doing it. IUI cost at $1280 and we get $600+ back. So we thought we would try for a few month b4 IVF. We can't get IVF publicly in QLD. I don't know why or how these things can be so different a state away. Seems a little unfair. Good for you guys tho. If we do IVF it will cost us $6000 out of pocket but will need to pay $12k upfront. They said I had a 20% chance with IUI so I will just hope for a miracle.

Have you guys tried to go on a holiday to relax? I know people have said it to me and I've been like - that's all great but we are trying to save for a baby - buuuuttttt you do sound stressed and maybe you and DH could disappear for a weekend together? Could do you the world of good. I once stayed in an Eco lodge on the Sunshine Coast and it was cheap and so amazing and relaxing. I've been thinking about doing that myself with DH. Just a thought.

    Sending big hugs!!

    Thanks for the advice
We have actually just come back from 2 weeks in India over Xmas and NYE. It was amazing to get away and did us the world of good but we are already in need of a break again!
I think we're going away to country NSW over Easter which will be lovely..

Sorry about the lack of public support in Qld.. Seems totally unfair. IUI does really work for some women tho so good luck!

What are the injections for?? Are you in an IUI cycle now?
