Default First timer Clomid and IUI!

    Hi,

I'm just about to start our first round of Clomid next week and we have an IUI planned for this cycle also..

I'm surrounded by a lot of pregnant friends so I was hoping to find some Clomid/IUI buddies so we can go through it together..

My signature says it all but if you want to know more feel free to ask!

Good luck to anyone reading this

Hello and thank you for posting..
We actually decided not to do IUI as very expensive for only a 7% chance ( our FS gave us that % ) ..

I tried Clomid on its own though at 50mg and I didn't ovulate
Will be increasing it to 100mg next cycle..

How did you find the drug?
Where are you having the IUI?

I also take a injection to make me ovulate. I don't have pcos (had an ultra sound) but still my body is not working
Yeah iui are costly but it's the only way for us being same sex

The clomid has really affect me. Which is great
But I've heard sorry of mood swings.

    Hi SJ,

We were quoted $2000 with Genea and IVF/ICSI was $4000 so the cost just didn't make sense for us..
We are having a TTC break till June when we will do IVF with the public system. A break was desperately needed as I was getting so down!
    Much happier now..
    Good luck with it

amiracle4me I know I am talking with you in another forum but I'm curious...how do you go about doing IVF through the public system?

That's cool about the multiple threads lol.
Most public hospitals have a fertility unit but the wait list is huge. We waited 5 mths for our first appt at RPA in Sydney. There is also Westmead Fertility unit in Western Sydney and they have radio ads all the time! They are a not for profit. Just check with your local hospital..
I much prefer it. The cost is better but I also prefer the 'lived in' and busy feeling.. The private clinic was too cold and sterile for my liking!

Hi ladies I hope you don't mind me jumping in on here to ask a few questions. I'm rather new to the forum and I don't think I can post topics yet (or haven't figured out how). My partner and I have been ttc for about 7 months now. I have 3 children from a previous marriage, he has none. I know they say to wait 1 year before seeking fertility advice, but I am just wondering the cost involved and where to even start? I have regular cycles, doing opk's and bbt. Everything looks normal in that regard. I just wanted some advice on where to start when you decide to get help, and the cost? Thanks in advance :-)

Hi Surething, sounds your partner should have his sperm tested? Have you done this yet?
