    Default Freaking out!!!

So I just needed to vent somewhere. I went for a breast ultrasound on Friday. I have to go yearly just as a precaution because of family history. Anyways it is never something I worry about but... they gave me my film and Friday afternoon I happened to take it out to have a look... There is something highlighted that is .58cm and located in my right breast area. Well the axilla or something.. So that made me nervous but I was able to think rationally and tell myself it was probably hormonal (first day or period) or nothing to worry about. However I was speaking to my nan who was telling me the symptoms of a family member who lost her life to breast cancer, her first noticed symptom was discharge... I have never noticed discharge but decided to see if I had any and when I squeeze my right breast there is discharge. I don't get any discharge from my left breast... SO now I am doubly freaking out and my doctor appointment isn't until Tuesday morning... Please tell me this can all just be normal stuff.

Honestly, I don't really know much about it. But...I will say that I can't imagine that the sonographer would have let you go off to wait for a Tuesday appointment if it looked sinister. Try not to worry, it won't change the outcome, only make you miserable. Keep yourself buys for the next couple of days and please stay off dr google!!!

Yeah I was supposed to go to the doctor at 12.30 on Friday but when I got there there had been a mix up and my appointment was actually 12.00 so I had to reschedule. I called the doctors office this morning and apparently the doctor hadn't received my report yet (whether that's their admin or the scan place hasn't done it I don't know) but I was thinking that if there was something the radiology place would have been straight on to my doctor but I don't really know what the protocol is there or how it works... I am thinking I might just call the doctor on Monday to put my mind at ease because I have an exam at Uni on Monday and I don't want my worry to interfere with my concentration...

The thing they marked may just be a cyst, which is completely normal and nothing to worry about. Normally, if the sonographer notices anything sinister they will check with the doc and they can perform a biopsy on the spot, (if they offer the service). This is what happens where I work.
Try not to stress, call your doctor on Monday
