When I had mastitis the nurse said soak a nappy with water, freeze it and then put it on so it's cupping your breast. It was a huge relief but keep a towel under you cause they drip as they melt!

Sorry this is problem a silly question, but any chance your DS would have even a little feed? I weaned slowly - over six weeks - and by the end I ha one boob that would go crazy and fill up to the brim! Only happened three times, but each time I put DD on she drained half. Might be worth a try (if he'll even have a bar of it). Good luck!

Express until you feel comfortable. Don't worry about expressing too much as it will dry up soon. Slower the better.

Thanks all. I've tried expressing a bit but as soon as I touch them I get letdown and it won't stop. DS seems to have forgotten how to latch or is purposely using me as a teething ring as I now have teeth marks there too!
This morning I have one soft breast and one rock hard that feels full of marbles and its keeping me awake whilst the house sleeps
I tired the frozen nappy yesterday and it felt great, thanks - then massaging whilst it was numb but can't seem to get rid on the painful lumps.
Hopefully not much longer to go.
