    Welcome new people! Congrats!!

I had my BT yesterday for the NT scan which is booked in for this coming Thursday. Can't wait to get that done, I will be so nervous beforehand.

I'm in Sydney but not RPA.

On that note, where is everyone having bub? I'm going to Norwest Private in the Hills district, Sydney.

Hi everyone! I'd like to hop on board too if that's ok. I think I am due on 29th August too dgl! My first scan will be Thursday week and I will be almost 8 weeks. I had one blood test to confirm pregnancy and nothing until the scan. I don't really feel pregnant so finding it all hard to believe. I can't wait to see the heart beat, I think I may actually believe it then!

As for hospitals I'm very confused! We have private health insurance and hubby is pro going down that route, but I'm not really seeing much benefit it spending all that extra cash. We are in Melbourne and if private will go Cabrini, if public maybe Box Hill.

Looking forward to sharing this journey with you all, I never really thought I would graduate to a pregnancy thread!!

    Welcome and CONGRATULATIONS Maggieme
The waiting from each test/scan is excruciating every symptom or lack thereof plays on your brain so much
As for your question for public or private it's personal choice. Maybe do some research first to find out how much OOP you will actually be with private.
We're in WA and decided to go private only because it's our first and being IVF we want to make sure we are getting top care. But a s I said it's all personal choice and it took us a long time to come to this decision but I have the fees from our OB and she is actually a no gap provider so we don't have to pay anything for the delivery and just pay for scans etc with after medicare come to $40 each etc. (you don't need my life story, just trying to give you an idea)

So maybe if you want to have a look into it, choose an OB you would be happy to have and give them a call and ask if you can have a list of their fees.

Just the beginning of a million and one decisions we will have to make and have absolutely no clue about :/ good luck!

Just popping in to say hi from Cape Town. I am officially huge, here are my 12 week pics (I was only a size 8 pre-pregnancy). I look about 6 monthsImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1388954080.973545.jpg

Apart from the ridiculously huge belly though I wouldn't really know I am pregnant, have my energy back now and have been doing lots of walking and activities. I will be 14 weeks this Wednesday and can't believe we have actually got this far.

Welcome to all the newbies and congratulations x

Thanks HopeFaithBelieve, after reading your post I researched no gap providers at the private hospital near us and was surprised to see there are about 10! So plenty to choose from.

Wow SoReady what a great bump you have there!!!

Welcome newbies!! And huge congrats to you xxx

stephhamer - I'm sure all clinics are different, but my specialist wanted a BT done each week for 3 weeks in a row (so the initial BT to confirm pregnancy, then 2 more a week apart). I think it was to check progesterone levels and HCG levels, and at the 8 week mark was told to stop taking my Crinone as my levels were really good. I would be asking for an extra couple.

I then had my 1st scan at 7 weeks

Cue - GL with the results hun. I am having my 10 week triple screen testing BT this Friday and have my scan in just over 2 weeks. Can't wait to see bub again!!

Maggieme - Welcome also hun! I know what you mean, we have Private and this time around will be using it despite it costing more. With my 1st born I went public (closest private is a 3 hr drive away), my son was breech and I had no choice but to have a c-section as it is such a small hospital they don't allow you to try a natural birth if bub is breech (don't have the facilities if something goes wrong).

I was in a shared room with another lady and her newborn who also had a ceasar that day and it was a nightmare. Our bubs kept waking the other up all night, and she had SOOO many visitors it was just crazy, we would just get some rest and boom in came another handful. I discharged myself after 36 hours against hospital advice but was worth it, I wanted to go home and get some sleep! Was the best thing I did. I'm looking forward to a private room and a decent stay this time around despite the cost.

We move back to Bendigo VIC in early June and will be having it at SJOG Private. The maternity ward is beautiful and worth the money after my 1st experience.

    Soready - great pic!

Wow so many new ladies Congrats to you all!

We have mixed news today..a little sad but still feel blessed and lucky at the same time.

We have lost one of our little beans. At our scan today 7 weeks 3 days one of our sacs were empty but we do have a strong little fighter on board with a healthy heart rate of 153BPM!

We are so so happy to have heard that little heart beat going strong! My cervix is closed and everything else is looking good!

Maggieme if you have your bub at Cabrini we may be there together I am due on the 22nd August!

Glad to hear everyone travelling along well xx
