Wow definitely not a good day on this thread ;(

Vixjc - thoughts are with you, you finally got your BFP so miracles do happen, hoping for some positive news and progression by next week xx

Muppa - you made the right decision for you and hubby in the tough situation, I would definitely do the same, in the end they are statistics and there is as much chance that you are growing a healthy little bub! Please don't give up hope yet xx

JB - thinking of you right now. Fingers crossed for some positive news, I've bend oing so much googling (bad I know) about bleeding in early pregnancy given my situation and there are so many ladies out there with babies and in their last trimester with bleeding etc, please do keep us posted, glad you are in good hands. Xx

I really do hope all this sad news turns around soon, and all us ladies can enjoy the Christmas spirit with healthy little babies growing! And making plans for their first christmas in 2014!

    :babydust: xx

Well my NT 12 week scan did not go too well yesterday. NT was 5.8mm and then combined with my blood results today gave me a risk of Trisomy 21 of 1 in 2 and Trisomy 18 of 1 in 9. To say we are devastated would be an understatement. I have spent some time with the genetic counsellors today and we have decided to continue as there is still a 50-50 chance. I am having the CVS procedure on Friday to determine if it's Downs, however due to the timing I will not get the results in time for a termination This unfortunately means that I will have to be induced and give birth at a date the Dr's will consider safe. It's my birthday in Feb so the timing is horrible, not to mention the devastating Xmas present to us and our family. I have cried so much today but I am still feeling this incredible pain in my heart that won't go away. We could take the easy road and just terminate today but whilst there is still hope, I don't want to give up just yet. The road ahead is bleak & is most likely going to cause immeasurable pain. But I need to know 100% that there is something wrong before I give up on that little life we have created.
I really hope the test comes back all clear, such a difficult thing to go through. I would have made the same decision as you. Everything is crossed for you.

What a sad day on this thread yesterday...

Muppa7677 I can't imagine what you're going through. Let's hope for that 50%... Like others have said I would have taken the same path: as long as there is hope you fight for him. How long does it take to get the results from the CVS procedure? What about that expensive blood test that finds your baby's cells in your blood, would that come back sooner?

Jb2011 any news on your side? bleeding is scary. I hope you and both bubs are ok.

AngeQ thanks for the hard work on the roll call!

My EDD changed after the first scan, it is now 9/8 (hopefaithbelieve twinny!).

I could not get hold of the ob's secretary after I graduated from the fertility clinic on Wednesday, so we actually went to his office yesterday (walking distance from home) and talked to them. I am officially his patient (yeah!) and will be getting our 12 weeks scan on January 29th.

    Have a nice weekend everyone.

Thank you all for your messages - after 4.5hours in emergency (not a fun wait) we had a scan done and everything was ok can't tell you the relief when we saw their little heart beating away and arms and legs jiggling around... It was so amazing to watch! I then still went for my scan I had booked today and we got to see them wiggling and jiggling around - so cute!! The sonographer said everything is looking great, they are measuring perfectly, heart rates are healthy and that the bleed was from my subchoronic hematoma that we knew about but sometimes they just take a while to resolve themselves and I could have more bleeding. I'm just going to have extra scans to keep an eye on everything. Phew... What a night.
