Hi ladies I've decided to join this thread after today's scan at 7wks3days everything is going great (didn't want to jinx myself) my EDD is 04.08.14 ImageUploadedByTapatalk1387428531.904641.jpg
I am really confused to what to do next as my FS told me to ring my OB here in my town and make an appointment before I'm 12 weeks (which is 20.01.14) so being Xmas and New Years I have one for 15.01.14 which is not that far off. I thought I would have to go early to arrange things for the 12 week scan? I'm confused can someone help me out (1st timer) and should I be getting in earlier for the Nuchal testing etc?

    We have a heartbeat!!!
Still spotting brown on and off but OB/FS assured me there's nothing to be worried about.
    HB @ 128bpm I'm so relieved!

Ian0306 - I asked that question today as they asked where I want to deliver etc. FS Released me today and wished me well, I was told I have to go to my GP to get referred to my OB of choice and then they will arrange the 12w scan from there
(Think I got it right?) maybe others more experienced would be able to help you out too.

I'm a little worried too being 5 and a little more weeks away from 12 weeks, it's a long wait without any reassurance that things are A-OK
    Congratulations by the way

@hopefaithbelieve thanks so much for that my FS referred me back to my original OB I was seeing when we first knew there were problems but the receptionist told me that I would also need a GP referral as the FS referral only last 2 months. She also tried to make my appointment the 29.01.14 I said sorry that's way too far away for me haha and she said they only do them on Wednesday and could squeeze me in on the 15.01.14. I guess I will have to wait & see what the other ladies suggest or say and go from there. It's funny cause you go from so clinical and running on schedules to just nothing it's quite scary.

Well done! Congratulations and welcome to this thread! Beautiful photo too.
The way it works here, you see your ob and a midwife on the first appt and go through all the info. Then you are booked somewhere else for the 12weeks scan. Somewhere where they only do scans and x rays.

JB - gorgeous pic hun thanks for sharing!! GL with today's scan.

Lillaa - congrats on your first scan darl, such an amazing feeling!!

hopefaithbelieve - how are you feeling? So glad your scan went well what a relief xxx

Vix - God you make me laugh!! had the mental image in my head, too funny x

Cue - great pic and glad everything is on track for you

lan - WELCOME HUN!! Glad to see you here, I note you are due 1 day before me!! So exciting. Just before we left the rooms I gave Dr Leyden a big hug, he was so taken aback he didn't know what to do and let out this weird little giggle, it was so funny.

I have also been to my GP this morning and just got my referral for my 12 weeks scan and am booked in for this on the 23rd Jan, I will be 12 weeks + 2 days. Also got from my GP my normal First Trimester BT referral which is usually done a few days before your 12 weeks scan. I also asked for a BT referral to get the Harmony test done. It is over 99% accurate for Trisomy 18,21 etc and I think also tells you the sex if you want to know this early.

Your GP should be telling you all you need to organise, etc babe being your 1st time. And as you were told your GP's referral to your OB will last 12 months not 2 or 3 like Dr Leyden's.

I know I am getting ahead of myself but have already been in touch with the Private Hospital in Bendigo and have an appt with them after the 12 week scan.

@Lillaa - thanks so much @Rozzie1976 - thanks I wanted to wait until my scan before joining, I couldn't imagine hugging Dr Leyden haha. Ok well after your great advice (thanks) I have booked in with a lady GP here (specialises in pregnancies and also practices @ the private hospital here where I'll deliver) on Monday 06.01.14 as I'm away over the next 2 weeks. So I'll go from there now I know what to do, I'm such an expert on IVF and TTC I actually have never read or got information about being pregnant.

Look like I'm in the unlucky 25%. Scan day today. She said I was 7 weeks today, and no visible embryo. Second doctor came in and confirmed. Follow up scan in one week, just in case its a late developer, but he was pretty clear it was unlikely there would be better news.

Best of luck ladies. Wishing you all a dream pregnancy
