I love the thought that when I'm on holidays I know I'm coming home to an clean house so I clean it.

    Yep.
I'm another one who cleans like a woman possessed before going on holidays.
It is a frenzied attack that I insist on doing alongside some incredibly military-style packing.
i am no fun in the lead up to a holiday.

That way when I get home I only need to wash clothes and do a shop,
    Mostly this.

I prefer to leave it clean & tidy. Will have all washing up to date & put away, kitchen cleaned, floors vacuumed & mopped, toys packed away.
It's nice to be able to come home from a holiday to a clean house & only have to do holiday clothes washing.

I make the beds/change the sheets. Washing all done and put away, kitchen and bathroom clean, floors vacuumed and mopped, throw some bleach in the toilet just before we leave.

I also do a grocery shop before we leave so I know that when I get home I've got everything we need (except perishables).

Bins are emptied and fridge cleaned out and lawns done too if needed, although I do them every week anyway.

Definitely full on clean. I have a toddler who likes to hide food everywhere and i dont want to risk there being something hidden that will rot and fester over the week. Yuck!

And its so nice to come home to a clean house

I don't sleep before we go away as I have to make lists on paper and in my head.
Before we go away I must have:

Fresh bath towels/hand towels hung up

Beds made and fresh sheets on

    Kitchen spotless, dishes done etc

    Fridge empty bar the condiments

    Bathrooms and toilets cleaned

    Bedrooms clean & tidy

    Floors mopped and carpet vacuumed

I will also quite often take the opportunity to let off an insecticide bomb inside whilst we're not there.

We leave in 1hour and I can check off everything on your list apart from the insect bomb!! I just watered the pot plants and only need to lock up and go yay

Clean before I go. Nothing more annoying them coming home to a messy house.
