    Default Changing OBs

I've been seeing my ob and I'm now 21weeks.

I go privately and saw his 'fill ins'. THEY were SOOO much more friendlier and caring. Went the extra mile in care with my concerns my apps were longer etc and helped me etc. what happens if I want to change or have I left it too late?

I pay my fees on 20th of this month. Any help would be great.

I could have written this! I wonder if we have the same obs?!

His fill in is so lovely I've taken her card for next time.

I couldn't change as id already paid him by the time I thought to change.

If I were you and I hadn't paid, if look into changing now.

I don't like mine one bit and I know as long as he does the job right and gets baby out safely that's the main thing but I wish I'd changed before I paid.....

I think you can have someone who has experience and you like.

i believe you are well within your rights to change prior to 20 weeks. The PMF is for handling an ongoing pregnancy AFTER 20 weeks so I believe you won't have to pay your old ob the PMF. If your going to change I'd do it real soon and give as much notice as you can. Actually you may have to pay for your file to be copied and handed over or something - not sure about that bit.

It's dr Carl lam I'm seeing he is friendly etc but just not as caring and wanting to go extra mile etc when I'm worried. I said I'm really tired etc he said we check iron again later on in preg when I was worried (as I don't eat red meat!) and also been exposed glandular fever...

Saw another girl and she was lovely did test and what do you know I do have it!! I will call tomorrow do I just call the ob I want to transfer too?

Change now b4 you pay the fees!

First call the new OB & check they can take you on (& you'll probs need a new referral from your GP) & if ok, just ring your old one & say to the receptionist that you've found an OB that's a better match for you -- it's totally fine, you're paying to go private so you call the shots!

I saw two obs last pregnancy - cause we moved interstate part way thru the pregnancy - and it was fine. My first one even sent all my paperwork & test results directly to the new one.
