Default Minimum height for a maxi dress?

Do you think there is a height under which wearing a maxi dress is a bad idea? Does it depend on a width to height ratio?

I saw a dress on birdsnest that might be good for a wedding coming up, but it's a maxi and I am 5'3".

Im 5'4 and I wear them. As long as the dress is not dragging on the ground. I think they look great regardless of your height.

I'm 160cm and wear them. I've rarely had to have them taken up too.
