My partner & I were talking about this the other night with his family...

    For dogs I have had:
    Buddy
    Patty
    Blondie
    Skye

    He has had:
    Tessy
    Patsy
    Ruby
    Milo
    Pandora
    Jesse

Names that I associate with dogs are:
    Marley
    Diesel

If I know someone who has a dog named a certain name, then I will always affiliate that name with a dog. My partner doesn't though, as his new niece has the same name as one of his dogs and he only made the connection recently & she's nearly 2 months old. In saying that, a friend of ours named their kid the same name as one of my aunties dogs & I no longer make the association.

Although really obvious dogs names like rusty, milo, etc... I will always affiliate with a dog.

human names we have had for pets:
    Oscar
    Tess
    Frankie
    Charlie

I also think holly, lily, mia and Molly are pet names.

I'm not a fan of the common shortening of our girls name so I'm pushing for ellie as nn but mum's dog is allie so doubt I'll be able to run with it.

I once had a 'friend' tell me that my DDs name reminded her of a dog!

This reminds me of when I had a candle party once. It was around Christmas time so I had mine, my husbands and daughters christmas stockings hanging up and the candle lady said "Is that one for the dog?" I'm like "no that's my husband" was very awkward after that haha!! I've never heard his name is a dogs name but it is quite an uncommon name so that could be why!

We have a Jaxon (German shepherd) and Squeak and Squawk (budgies).

My last dog was Hendrix (west-highland terrier). I've also had rabbits named butterscotch (nn of poop), pepsi, caramel and chocolate.

I love people's names for pets!

Our old family dog was called Nigel (he had that name already when we adopted him at 6 weeks old).

Names I've commonly heard for pets that are human names are Sasha, Jack, Tessa, Rex & Molly.

My labs name is Sookie suits her though. Most people think we called her that because she's a massive sook lol but we are just huge True Blood fans lol
