Reminds me of my first icey winter in London. Was running for the bus and hit a patch of black ice...did the cartoon thing of running on the spot for what felt like ages, then stacked it - skirt up round my ears landing with bum in the air. I was mortified as whole bus stop laughed

Do they even make packet mixes? A packet of pre-measured self-raising flour?!

Ok, here's my gift to BH. These are the fluffiest scones I've ever eaten and I have never, ever stuffed them up.

Mrs Trilby's Scones (my mum got the recipe off someone at a fete called Mrs Trilby and I just went with it)

    Preheat oven to 220C

-3 and 1/2 cups self-raising flour, plus a little for dusting bench
    -1 cup lemonade
-1 cup pure cream ( NOT thickened, lite, etc, only pure)

Combine ingredients (I like to use the dough hook on my mixer), then roll out and cut.

    Check at 8 minutes.

Dh and i were at the drive in one night. The car next to us needed a jump at the end of the movie (their battery had died). I promptly said 'just move your car over to ours and we'll give you a jump'

When I was 9yo, my parents were helping my mothers best friend with their new convenience store. I used to walk there after school to meet them. It was a half hour walk. One day we got report cards given out at school, so I was reading my report card whilst trying to walk to my mothers friend's store ... but ended up in the middle of town instead. So I asked for directions from a police officer that I happened to walk past, and he took me there in his patrol car instead. My parents freaked when they saw me arriving in a police car.

    It wasn't a fail!

It's not the neatest but it took me about 10 minutes and cost around $15 so can't complain!

Instant gravy. Can not get instant gravy right to save myself - it always ends up water thin or incredibly thick and rich, even when I measure everything out exactly right (I'm not usually an accurate measurer) I am not a bad cook but I am banned from making gravy, ends in a tantrum every time!
