    Default Caravan/campervan recommendations

DH & I are considering buying a caravan/campervan. We're camping newbies, but would like to get one so we can take the kids away on family trips a few times a year.
What's the difference between a caravan and a campervan?
No idea on budget yet, probably no more than $20k.
Would love any suggestions, do's, don'ts, tips etc on what we should be looking for 😀

If buying online, actually go and see the thing in real life, friends just got scammed out of 15,000 trying to buy a camper online, they relied purely on email. Bugger. Other than that, I don't know much else, except yay for you, I can't wait to do this when kids are old enough ) happy hunting

campervan is like a motorhome- the car/motor is attached to the home. A caravan is a home in which you tow with a car. I would think caravans would be somewhat cheaper as your not paying for the car/motor part of it.

Buying a caravan/campervan is very much a personal choice. Some questions that you might need to consider...

    1. What are your thoughts on going 2nd hand?
    2. What kind of towing vehicle do you have? What's the towing capacity?
    3. How many does it need to sleep?

Also have you considered camper trailers? Google these, there are 2 different types- soft floor and hard floor. These are again usually cheaper than caravans.
