Good luck tomorrow! Hopefully the ob just wasn't very confident using the ultrasound machine and he's got you all stressed over nothing.

Hey there, was the sac the right size for the age? Also remember that most OBs don't have the quality of US that the US places do. Good luck for this morning xx

The sac measured the same size at OB and ultrasound place 6w3d, nice round sac, no HB! The ultrasound place want beta HCGs checked, and a follow up ultrasound in 2 weeks.

The lady was really positive, but I find it hard to remain positive.

My dates aren't wrong, LMP 26th August, got a BFP, 26th September...got a 3+ weeks on the digi test on the 7th October... If there was a HB, I would think ok, my dates are wrong, but no HB at 6w3d even...

I would disagree with those who reached the conclusion it was an inexperienced OB.

It is perfectly feasible that a heart beat that is not visible at a scan at 6-7 weeks will be much more obvious in 2 weeks time. In the same amount of time, the embryo will be at least 4 times bigger.

A formal ultrasound centre is more likely to have more a powerful ultrasound probes - more able to overcome the "muffling" that goes along with belly fat.

My BMI is higher than 40. When I went along for a formal ultrasound, I had a lengthy chat with the radiologist about scans for larger mothers. He was very reassuring. He said that with a large amount of fatty tissue the scan can take longer and be more uncomfortable, but the information once obtained was quite accurate.

Fingers crossed. The anxious wait is tough.
