Disgusting. And I pro-choice. Not sure I could be there for my friend with that decision.

I am pro-choice, desperately trying for a rainbow baby and would love a little boy but there is no way in this world I would terminate a baby girl based on her gender. It's down right wrong and selfish. I'm surprised that there is a dr involved and allowing this for the friend in question. Surely this can't be legal?

Another who is pro-choice but I will never be ok with termination based on gender. I didn't think you could learn the sex of that baby that early on for that particular reason.

I wouldn't be able to contain my anger if one of my friends were going down that path. I'd be blatantly honest and telling her how disgusted I was. I know that sounds harsh, but there's a line I think were being tactful about a situation like that just goes out the window and you have to be honest.

I'm also pro choice, but I could never ever understand terminating a healthy pregnancy because of sex and I could never continue a friendship with someone that could

    So awful.

If gender is so important to them then I think they've really lost the meaning and beauty of what a gift children are. Gender is so insignificant anyway. What if he's not a 'boyish' boy? Will they be disappointed? Geez Louise

There are no words... this makes me so sad!

We have two DDs who are the light of our life, and I would so much love to have a third baby/child. Obviously a boy would be nice, but we would be equally happy with another little girl, and wouldn't give it another thought. There is just absolutely NO way that terminating a baby because of its gender is acceptable...

OP, I would not be able to support a friend going through this and also what an awful position to put you in too... hugs!
