Default What time does your daycare pre-school open/close?

So as the title says what time does the daycare or pre-school your child goes to close?

I'm looking at applying for a nursing job for next year, but realised none of the shifts work around DH's hours or daycare hours. DH leaves for work at 6:30am, morning shift starts at 7am but daycare opens at 7:45am. DH gets home from work at 6:10am but daycare closes at 5:45pm! so are these daycare hours (7:45am - 5:45pm) the average for most centres? Should I start looking for centres that open earlier/close later or do they not exist?

The ones we used in Melbourne were 8am to 6pm. That seemed pretty standard amongst our friends' centres as well.

In perth the one we used was 8 to 5. DS is attending a Montessori preschool next year which is 9 to 3.

    Mine runs 6.15am-6.15pm.

That's why I picked it among other things.

Most around here open somewhere after 6 (usually 6.15, 6.30, 6.45) and the shut 12 hours later.

Well that was pretty standard where we were in North Carlton.

ETA DD1 was dropped off at 8 and was always the first there by about half an hour. Maybe people slept in in the inner city.
