Here is a list of mandated occupations. It differs from state to state, which may be where the discrepancy is coming in.
I don't think you're a troll ozeymum. Maybe this thread is a touchy subject for you and it's not productive for you to be in here. Not saying that you shouldn't feel free to post anywhere, but sometimes threads do push our buttons.
Maybe take a step away and take a deep breath.
Ozeymumof5- can I ask what you believe the police should have done in this situation?

I'll talk, when DS1 was 16 months old a Dr at our local hospital reported us because DS1 had broken 2 bones in 3 months. He was later diagnosed with a mild form of osteogensis imperfecta (brittle bone), the report was proved unfounded and I haven't heard anything since and I AM IN FULL SUPPORT OF MANDATORY REPORTING. I was NOT offended by the report I'm a good mum I know that, it wasn't personal, the Dr did what he thought was in my sons best interest. If I had been in his position I would have done the same thing.

Ozeymumof5 sending some empathy, compassion and love to you both. As someone that has experienced mental health issues and experienced family violence in the past (as a perpetrator ie:I smashed our family car with a broom when I was suffering severe PND) I totally get where you are coming from. I dealt with a very insensitive police officer who obviously has no idea of mental illness and was in serious need of sensitivity training. Since getting better I have written to the police force and received an apology. Love to you both.... Mental illness is so misunderstood but in all honesty if I'd not experienced it I wouldn't "get" it either.
Thank you to those who know what it's like.
